YouTubers.

Watched Shiels new vid where he's 'course managed' round several holes. I'm sure a lot of us club golfers would benefit following some of the messages in this

It was also goof fun watching Rick get pulled up on stuff that I've said to my screen when i watch one of his break 75's & other vids :p

I agree, was a decent watch and similar to a Matt Fryer one, where he went round with a psychologist. Massive part of a round is how we approach it mentally.

Surprised how many shots he would've hit 'wrongly' if he'd went with his first instinct/shot thought/club choice

You mean, not trying to hit a fade with a funky Arnold Palmer swing when he's a natural draw player? Or actually going to a longer club with his approach instead of trying to muscle a massive hook to the green?

Wish I had had a pound for every time he says "I will just muscle this in"

Weirdly he flicks between that, and selecting too much club to perform a "chippy 9 iron". Why not just choose the right club and hit it normally? I think he has an obsession with trying to create nice-looking creative shots for the video rather than keeping it simple and playing the right shot.

I think he feels he always has to talk to the camera to explain what he is thinking to the viewer. I think he'd play better if he just got his head down and played his next shot, but then that would be boring for us I guess!

Is a great instructor. If you like simple to the point instruction.

Bullard v Cash some very good quality. Cashs drive at the 3rd and Bullard's eagle notably.

Some of the banter annoying but. Cash referring to the Champions League as the 'Champo league' was grinding my gears.

WWE's 'MIZ' popped up in the Youtube feed - already has a lot of subscribers. Feels like nearly everyone is doing some golf related content....., is golf now fashionable?

Just by the number of under 35s that have joined our club this year alone, yes.

Just found out this exists:

Someone has calculated handicaps for a bunch of major YouTubers. Some of them are a little surprising. Bullard +2 is impressive, considering he's a footballer rather than a lifelong golfer like most of the others around him.

They have Guy Charnock off 2.1 though, which I'm highly dubious about. Not sure I've ever seen him less than 10 over - albeit on some tough courses. Maybe it's because he has big blow-out holes that get rounded down.. not sure. I'm not sure Ronan's (ForeBros) is up-to-date either, they have him on 13 but I saw a vid where he shot around 7 over on his own personal channel the other day. So I'm sure he'd be a bit lower if they'd seen that.

Iona better than Horvat right now - impressive.

From what I saw of Fat Perez at some PGAtour connected ‘special’ I’m not having it that he is even single figures, let alone what they say 🤣.
Seems to be based on videos released. You do wonder if many YouTubers will have their less impressive shots edited out though…

You could take the lot with a pinch of salt. 😄

I realised you can click on each row and it breaks down each round and score. Of course, it's only what we see on YouTube. I doubt any of them are editing out bad shots, but they obviously could do in theory. The only one I'm seriously skeptical on is Guy at 2 really. But I don't think he even has 20 rounds in.
