Your shot of the weekend

Played the Old Course at St Pierre and birdied the 7th thanks to a 190 yd hit into the breeze with the 23 degree baffler to about 3 ft - Cheers G1bbo!

Difficult conditions for us yesterday, a blanket of fog over the course meant that anything over 80 yards couldn't been seen up until the end of the 6th, when finally the sun burnt off the mist to leave a beautiful day.

However it didn't stop my playing partners seeing my 35 foot putt from just of the green crashing into the flag and getting wedged in. I carefully removed the flag to see my ball drop in for a birdie 4 on what is one of my bogey holes.
Also an approximate 250 yard drive, no wind, with my 3 wood (i dont use a driver) down our 10th (SI 1)with a slight draw right into the centre of the fairway. Pity about the 3 putt that went along with the other 4 i had on the day. The trials and tribulations of a 23 h/c.

A 4 iron, from 190, with the ball a good 6 inches below my feet, and a nasty wind from the West. I had to factor in the ball going right from the slope, then the wind bringing it back towards the green once it got above the trees. I stuck it to 10ft, right of the pin, then sunk the putt. Won the hole with it as well...

Our stroke index 1 - I blocked my drive right over trees to the next fairway. 190 yard to green, back over trees and directly into the rising sun. Took TM superfast rescue club, clean as a whistle knowing I wouldn't see the shot with the sun and the trees near the green being pretty high - walked up and found the ball 15ft from pin on the fringe. Chip and putt for the hole to go 3 up after 3 in our 4BBB match, and on a hole where I gave a shot to everyone on handicap

Best shot of this weekend?

Easily a vodka at about 4am, following it up with a 3pt vodka and coke at 4.15am - Needless to say I didn't make golf later that morning.

Played in a scramble yesterday at George Washington golf club and hit a 8iron on the 15th 157yards to about 3foot easy birdie for us

We finished 2nd :)

Saturday was the first outing with my recently purchased MP FliHi 4 iron (cheers Alex). 190yds with a slight draw to leave a 3ft putt. Shot of the day in our fourball.

It too was my first outing with my Fli-Hi 2 & 3 iron. Exceptional clubs. Still trying to get used to the 2 iron mind you, but will get there eventually.

I hadnt managed to get to the range for a practice last week so it was literally the first time id hit any balls with it. I only got it out of the bag about 4 or 5 times in the round but every shot felt much nicer than my own irons. Could of been 1st time luck and will have to see how it behaves next weekend but could be in the market for some Mizuno irons for xmas!!

Saturday : 4w from 220 cut around a big tree to give myself a 20' eagle putt. Left it 12" short.
Sunday : 9i from 139 to 12" on our SI1.

On 9th (Par 5) after a shocking tee shot, hit a nice rescue 3 to within 75 yards then pitching wedge to a foot from the pin, then on 11 (another par 5) 30ft putt for birdie, apart from a few holes, 7 over after 3 I would have had a PB this weekend, well a PB at my new course anyhow.

First time I've held a club since May at the driving range on Saturday.

First ball went very nicely!

2,3,4,5 and 6 not so much but it was good to hit some balls and not think about what I was doing right or wrong just enjoying it.

I only play in the week at the moment, so sorry for dragging this post back up! :)

I played with 2 of my usual playing partners yesterday who both hit consistently low-mid 70s, we all drove off long and straight but into a massive headwind so ended up 110 yards from the green wich is uphill with the pin on the front. The wind was howling around 40MPH, My drive was longest so they hit their fancy under the wind shots one short left and the other on the green but 30 foot away, i stroked a 9I (usually good for 130-140)straight at it and it stopped a foot away and gave me a tapin birdie. Happy days! :D
