What was it??

Good bunker shot, monster drive, 40ft double break putt.......... What was your shot of the weekend?

Mine was hitting Mizuno Fli-Hi 3 iron 210 yards into one of the new greens at my track.......... After duffing my tee shot about 100 yards :o

I've had quite a few good shots this weekend Gareth.:)

Out of them all my 3rd shot on the 5th stands out better.
Spanked a fine drive from the tee, straight down the middle. Followed it up with a solid 7 iron which, although flew very well, took a rightward pitch on landing, right behind a mound next to the green.

This is it. A sublime chip with the PW saw the ball fly over the mound, land and check slightly on the green before gently rolling toward then in the hole for a lovely birdie!

Chuffed to bits!

35 foot putt on the par 3 17th for a 2 and some money. A double on the par 5 16th had meant that I was unlikely to get cut today so to sink a big putt from off the green and win some 2s money put the smile back on my face.

Birdieing the 18th after 3 putting the 17th, to let our opponents back to all square.
The birdie won us the match, the putt was from about 10 foot BTW.

It was in the race to Dubai matchplay championship.2 rounds negotiated, hopefully 3-4 more rounds to go. In the first round we knocked out one of the teams who went all the way last year.I'm not packing my bags just yet though.

my last putt on the 18th today, was glad to finish and go get a beer :)

There was nothing in the round to write home about... no wedges to inches, no long putts and the driver had been dipped in wobbley juice - it was all over the place. Maybe the 5 wood off a horrible hanging lie 225yds from the green. It took the left to right swing and finished 20 feet away - needless to say the putt sat on the very lip.

It was that bad a round I'm thinking of hitting the practice round... never been there for 3 years.

174 yard lip out with a punched 7 iron into a breeze.

Not sure how it missed as it was a proper lip outbut as it was league finals day saved me a good bit behind the bar.

Punched 7 iron into a breeze, 174!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you popeye?

185 yard 4 iron to the par 3 16th at Lindfield yesterday. Ended up about 6 feet from the pin and made the putt for my 2nd birdie of the day. Played a 4BB match with a mate of mine, we had been 4 up at the turn but our opponents stepped on the gas and we were only 1 up stood on the 16th tee.
My birdie made it dormy and I ended up parring the closing two holes as well.
Well chuffed because I never usually play the 18th there very well.
My Stableford score would have been 38 points, so a much better day for me.

7 iron bump and run under/through the trees at 16th at my place yesterday. Unusually it went in the direction and height required and finished 5ft away and resulted in a birdie 3 to half the match.

I hit quite a lot of really nice irons into greens on Saturday. I recall a 7i into our 7th from 160 or so to about 6 feet and an 8i from about 145 to about 4 feet.

I couldn't get the putts to the hole, unfortunately. The greens were sandy and quite hairy so were very, very slow.

Still, the clubhouse has just got Budvar on draft, so that made up for the poor putting ;)
