Hole in one I had at Bearwood on the H4H weekend probably.

Hit it exactly as I intended, never left the flag and was calling it before it pitched on the green. :)

Hit a contender yesterday on the 17th.

Fatted a 3w for my second shot on this par 5 which left me 185yds to the front of the raised green - pin was only on 5yds and a huge drop off is at the back of the green which was 197yds (it's a tiny target)

Ball slightly below my feet into a slight breeze, pure struck 3i which started about 6yds left of the flag and moved about a yard in the air. Pitched exactly pin high and left me 12 ft for a birdie (pulled and missed!)

It's a very difficult approach shot with a wedge - it's not designed to be coming in with a 3iron!!

For me both second shots only a couple of weeks ago playing the Medal at Dunbar. Both par fours, 11th and 12th are 460yds into and across a fairly strong wind. Hit both second shots onto the edge of both greens for a comfortable pair of two putt pars. I know I had gained a few shots on the field, finishing second HC and third scratch. Bad start as well.

i didn't have anything to add to this thread until saturday just gone. 170 yard par 3. hit a steady 5 iron up there which pitched on the fringe then started to run towards the pin, positioned in the middle of the green. i half jokingly said, 'that's in that...' as it rolled gently towards the flag...and dropped. my playing partner and i were in shock. my first hole in one. couldn't believe it. february has been a good month. knocked two shots off my best ever round of 87 and now this. i only picked up golf clubs seven months ago so i'm pretty happy with that.

I wasn't going to reply to this because over the course of the last 18 months since I have been working with Steve at Blackmoor my ball striking has kept improving and I keep hitting better shots. But I honestly think I just hit it, I doubt I will ever hit a better one. 17th hole, 8i, 146yds, it felt, sounded and looked awesome, and a tap in birdie. It was a proper golf shot, the problem now is I will be comparing every shot I hit in the future to that one.

I've had a few I remember for different reasons - chip-ins, close approaches and a few drives where I've surprised myself at how well I've hit it.

That said, my best has to be first eagle which was just over 3 yrs ago on the 9th at Wike Ridge, playing with a group of mates from my home club between Christmas and new year with a bit of a kitty up for grabs. Put my drive roughly 50 yds from the pin, with an uphill, blind approach up next. Took my sand wedge, aimed to account for the blustery wind and put a nice swing on it. Cue my PP shouting about how good it was looking before the confirmation of "Well done mate, it's in the f*#~^$g hole!" Even better - we won the cash too!

No idea what my best shot ever was but the 4iron I hit on the 15th on Saturday is right up there.

Its an uphill dogleg left par 4 that's plays into the prevailing wind, when there's no wind its normally a drive and an 8 iron if you can get a draw round the corner, On Saturday I didn't get the draw and missed the fairway right, so I'm left with 170 yards (per Skycaddie) to the centre from the rough with trees tight to my line straight into the wind. So I put the ball back in my stance hooded the face a smidge and gave it a good firm swing, the ball never got above about 10feet off the ground and never wavered off line, it pitched into the bank at the front of the green and rolled up to pin high 8-10feet left of the hole. The two guys I was playing with were suitably impressed anyway!

A few months back I was playing in a knockout comp. We were 2 down with 3 to play. On the par 4 16th I hooked my drive and ended up in the rough, just short of OOB. PP hit his straight OOB. I hacked out then ended up in the rough on the right side of the fairway. I was 180 yards out with no line to the green as I was blocked out by a huge fur tree. Ball was sat up lovely so I was thinking I will just play a straight shot just to get to the left side of the green. I was just trying to get close so I could then chip on and putt for a bogey, net par. Grabbed my hybrid which I normally hit well. I ended up hitting an unintentional fade which shaped around the fur tree lovely! Jogged out onto the fairway to see to ball land pin high, to around 3 foot. Nice little snaky putt for a par, net birdie. Our opponents both par'd the hole but they didn't get a a shot.

Was buzzing after that. We lost the match on the 18th though!

I'd have to think quite hard about this but, in essence, the shots where I just stand there, see it, hit it are the ones in that category.

I don't have a favourite but can recall a few fairway woods, or daft flop shots, when there's nothing to lose.that fit the bill.

Not, i guess, what the OP was asking for but probably a good insight into the weird workings of my tiny mind!

On Saturday. A 360 yard Par 4. With a large stream at 260 so have to carry 265 really. I'm quite a big hitter, but usually I don't go for it, I do lay up.

Fancied it on Saturday as it was windy. Got hold of one and was 2 yards off the fringe of the green. 340 minimum.

I'm sure Doris helped get it there, but chipping on and putting for birdie was lovely!
