100 yards with my 55 degree wedge. Plenty of spin to stop it on firm greens.
Nope the 7 iron was a 3 quarter swing shot so it would be a PW for a 220 yard shot. And I'm guessing a 220yd 8iron for your next shot![]()
There are a few I enjoy...
80 YRDS - 58 degree pitch (My favourite)
155-160 - 8 iron
As long as I'm not between clubs then I'm pretty comfortable with most approach shots 180 YRDS and under.
Yeah. I remember the 1 I hit years ago too!210yd 3 iron is my fav shotne:
Following on from Bob's thread re your short game I'd be interested to know what everyone's favourite approach shot distance is and also club - I'm talking 2nd shot on an average Par 4 or simply the distance and club you're really comfortable with (putter and 1ft not allowed). I don't wish for this to be a 'my dads bigger than your dad' kind of thread, just curious to know whether the 7i, 8i, 9i or PW wins the day?
Personally, I love to have the PW in my hand for a 115ish approach but am also really at ease with my 8i for anything 135 to 145.
