We have comps on pretty much every weekend through summer and about 2 a month through winter. Theres at least one midweek comp per month year round. With a few exceptions, they are Q comps year round, provided course conditions allow it.
"Named" comps are Saturdays only and have start sheets; monthly medals are alterdate day with start sheet for Saturday, rock up on Sunday; Pro-shops are alternate day without start sheets. And even if it is a "start sheet day" (again, with some limited exceptions) you can book a time slot without being in the comp.
All in all, plenty of comps and loads of scope for those wanting just social golf. Everyone's a winner! (Ok, perhaps not: as someone said in another thread, golf clubs were inventing for moaning ...)
