Winter Olympics 2022

"Contamination with my grandfather's medicine" ...... bwahahahahahaha ........ who thought of that excuse?
Contamination doesn’t make a difference. If she misses out on opportunities she should take pops to court.

Same with subelements, I have heard of plenty of people blaming them, but not heard of court cases or even recalls for the stuff.

It’s the personal responsibility of what gets in their body.

It’s ok, she’s a child. Just look at what they did with Olga Korbut, Nellie Kim et al.
Any one caught cheating should be banned regardless of age or excuses.

It's almost as good as the old "my drink was spiked" or "my account was hacked" excuses. Amazing how those things always happen when it's something illegal that has taken place.

I just hope her grandpa is ok - if she's been snarfing his meds by mistake ...

She must have 3 grandfathers according to the latest reports that say her sample had traces of 3 different substances - although only 1 is currently banned.

For anyone interested in how they got away with the doping, The Rodchenkov Affair is worth reading; Grigory Rodchenkov was the guy running the labs that masterminded the doping scandal. When the net tightens he turned whistle blower. The book was written in seclusion under witness protection…

Great work for the GB Girls - into the final of the Curling , so at least we are guaranteed two medals with the reaching the final yesterday

...

From what age though!
Given what little I know about the Russian system, I believe the prospective athletes have little control about much of their training - including what goes into their body!
Without being 'political', it's the fact that so much is 'state controlled/run by the state', so outstanding achievement being a national, rather than personal, goal that is the fundamental problem imo!

Then it is her parents responsibility. We cannot disadvantage her competitors by her age. Again, if there is something in her body which is illegal she needs to be DQef and banned, she can then take the responsible person (her grandpa) to court. If we believe her story. Or her federation if we don’t believe it. But she should be gone for 2 years regardless.

Very naive of you! Why do think Russia, in its entirety was/is banned?

She shouldn't be banned until her guilt is established at an appropriate hearing result.
