Winter Olympics 2022

So what! As long as the 'arenas' are appropriate, then it's fine. And that seems to be the case, as no criticism has been made - though that could well be out fear of 'consequences'!
In fact, when the games are over, these facilities will simply be disassembled and 'recycled'. All as per the plan that, presumably, the IOC approved when the bid was accepted. It's more likely that the 'disused' industry have simply been temporarily moved out and will be moved back in after the games.

It's an old decommissioned steel mill plant that was closed before the 2008 Beijing Olympics (despite the army of online idiots claiming its a nuclear power plant).
Shougang Park has been transferred into a clean energy park with modern facilities. Visitors can enjoy museums, stay at hotels or eat/drink at restaurant/cafes.

Its actually a award winning project.....https://www.lead8.com/news/lead8s-urban-regeneration-wins-world-design-award
I guess they see it as a symbol of its polluting past going towards a greener future.

I LMFAO every time Western mainstream media prints any photos of China. :ROFLMAO: I don't understand how people can fall for the grayscale filters every single time.

China + grayscale filtered picture= ooohhh scary, dystopian.......... jeez, give me a break. There's literally a ton of Youtube videos showcasing Shougang Park and its regeneration. Just pure laziness.

Watching old grown ass men crying over Eileen Gu representing China instead of the US has been a spectacle in itself:LOL::LOL: ......Overall, I've enjoyed watching the Games despite the overpowering negativity.
