So guys, with the wind over the last few weekends blowing a gale have you hit any record drives?

Lets make Timgolfy proud and boast about our wind assisted long drives. I will get us started.

Last weekend I broke my old record of 324 with a 338, I then bettered that today with a wind assisted downhill drive of 374 yards on a par 5. I had a chip to the green which I thinned long to the back and then ultimately ended up two putting for a 4.

Anyone else been up to the same antics?
 
Managed to smash my driver a whopping wind assisted 207 yards.... I was really pleased! It was in play for yet another FIR.

Beat that willy wavers... ;)

If I can get over 208 then on Tuesday, I'll be doing cartwheels in celebration. :D :D
 
Downhill 374 yards. It would have to be down a mountain for me to hit that far, and i would still need a favourable bounce.

That must have been some chip. Surely you must have had at least 100yds if it was a par 5 :cool:.

Being up here in Bonny Ecosse with the wind came the rain, so at my course I have produced some fantastic carry's but there is little run. Carried it close to 300yds a couple of times hit it 310yds.

Short par 5, slight dogleg, I took that out with the draw of the drive! So I had about 90 to the flag, only needed to be a bump n run chip as the pin was right at the front and was downhill/fast running fairway all the way! If I had tried to pitch it then I would have never held it. Pity I thinned it as I felt I could get it close with a good ole bump n run! Ended up about 20 feet past, thankfully rolled that up to about 2 feet.

I got the measurement from a laser and a DMD. If I had taken the distance left from the hole length it would have been nearer 400! I did it in front of about 8 people on the tee and it flew over a group down the fairway! I had to apologise later too!

As I hit it heard people comment on how good it looked but I had no idea the group 320 yards away were in range!

My first tee shot of the day was a 200 yard pull into rough so I was not expecting much standing on that tee!
 
Who needs long. Played in the roll up this morning and got 40 points in a stiff old wind. Took the money too.

Really glad you had a good round and hopefully it's installed some confidence and love for the game again. Stick with it Martin :)

Can't beat a bit of willy waving. You ain't seen nothing yet, just wait till I unleash the 7 iron from 120 yards downhill!! ;)
