Why when its sunny do i always seem to play like a complete bell?

Everything missed today

Missed more short putts than i have all season
Pushed shots to the green just right into bunker short sided
pulled shots just left of green into bunker short sided
hit driver into the trees
duffed chips
skied bunker shots

Most shots were close but just not close enough.

NR'd after losing a ball on the 15th and you can guess what happened cant you? Parred in after that

Bring back the rubbish weather :D

You didn't make the fatal mistake of turning up with high expectations did you mate :D

That mistake has bitten me on the backside more than a few times!

I find the best rounds come with low expectation and a bogey on the first

I started with a double after a bunker shot that crawled out the bunker and just back down the hill to the raised green ;)

I tried not to as its bitten me before too :D. Had an excellent range session last night where i thought i cant possibly hit it any better than that  I knew that wouldnt help!

On the plus side im back to 18 for the battle on the beach on Monday :D

Great weather for it today even with a slight breeze. Our greens were pretty slick this morning and with horrible pin positions, course was looking great.

Today's round had as follows

10 pars
3 3 putts
1 treble bogey
4 double bogeys
3 bogeys

84 gross for a 69 which will see me cut 0.3 at best.

Frustrating as the treble and double bogeys came from nowhere and a lack of commitment to the shots and the 3 putts were all shocking.

Anyway 10 pars is probably as good a day as I've had on my course on medal day.

Nice work Martin

Shows youve got more in the tank if you can afford them doubles and trebles and still come in under.

The 3 putts are the annoying thing for me and i had a shedload today which is unusual for me. They werent due to leaving the first putt short or miles past either, just stupidity

Not playing until Monday as my left elbow is giving me gyp. Gonna be at the local all day tomorrow for the annual beer festival. Great way to spend a beautiful weekend.

I had another round almost as strange as last week. Turned up this morning for the first round of the Stone Cup and have been in good form but after upping the running this week in training for the windsor half marathon and spending all day on my feet yesterday at Wentworth I was absolutely knackered this morning. Just couldn't get anything going front nine and turned with 11 points. Never one to give up I set myself a target of 34 points, ambitious I know but managed to get to the 16th tee without dropping another shot. Managed to 3 stab 16 for bogey, hit poor chip on 17 and made another bogey and somehow managed to take 4 to get down from 75yds on the last for my 3rd bogey in a row. Still, 32 points in the end wasn't bad after the front nine debacle. 2nd round tomorrow and I need to rip it up to stand a chance but I know it's in there so anything is possible.

Sunny weather and I played like a muppet. My short putting was twitchy at best and I couldn't feel the swing. Tried to hang onto Hawkeyes coat tails with no success. Funnily enough a lot of good golfers all came in with crap scores. Perhaps the sun scared everyone

Lovely weather today at Bolton old links, I thought the same.

Kindly invited by Graham to play in their invitational. We got off to a stormer, 21 points front 9, better ball.

Then I 3 putted 5 times on the back nine. I'd also 3 putted once on the front nine.

We finished on 39 points, four of my 6 3 putts would have had us with 4 extra points also, and possibly in the prizes. I played quite well tee to green, had two birdies, but then charged so many past on the back nine.

Ho hum.
