Who would win count back card 1 or card 2 two of the guys i played with were arguing who won?

10th par 4 score 4.. 11th par 4 score N/R 12th par 5 score 4 13 par 4 score 6 14th par 3 score 3 15th par 4 score 5 16th par 4 score 5 17th par 3 score 4 18th par 5 score 5

total points 20

card 2

Surely if the competition is stableford, then it would be Card 1. Back 9, then back 6, then back 3, then last hole

If I read you correctly, Card 1 scored 20 points, card 2 scored 18 points - so countback goes to the card with 20 points.

Actually, there is no defined method, so it's up to The Committee.

But the traditional method is back 9 (holes numbered 10 to 18, even if they were the 'front nine' for some) back 6, 3, 1 then some decision.

So traditionally, Card 1 wins.

I don't think he meant 20 and 18 after 18 holes, rather tied after 18 holes with back 9 = 20 for one player and back 9 = 18 for the other.

This seems like a bit of a silly question? You clearly already know the answer, from the way you posted it giving 20 points for one, and 20 for the other, otherwise you would have posted more details about the front 9, their handicap etc.

I may be mistaken, but that's just the way it seemed from your post. Quite clearly 20 beats 18...
