For the past few days the weather forecasts have been saying that Friday (today)was going to be a complete washout, with torrential rain coming in overnight (Thursday) hanging around all morning and moving north slowly during the afternoon. Build Your Ark Time

I was due to play Imurg this morning, so last night we were doing the shall we/shant we text stuff, and we agree to wait till morning just in case.

Well this morning at 6 it was completely dry, yes overcast and grey, but dry, so we duly turned up at normal time to find the carpark empty, only 7 other golfers out on the course, so we play and yes we had a few spots, but nothing to write home about, no stuff to dry out and smiling at the number of "Fair Weather Golfers" out there

I'm not going to mention my 8 point margin of victory :), but I played fairly well, shot 90 (net 71)for 35 points, but 2 blobs, shows it should have been better. Had 6 pars, 7 Bogies and 5 doubles or worse. Pars were 2 each on par 3/4/5, so its not like im just paring the par 3's.

Was really happy with my putting today, feel its come on leaps with the new ping putter and the Jumbo grip

So any other weather forecast related stories out there?

Was supposed to play a game with my Dad today but we decided to postpone last night, partly based on the forecast. Not overly impressed that its been dry almost all day , albeit I wouldnt have fancied playing after a very late/heavy night at the new casino opening :(

Got similar on the cards for tomorrow morning

...I'll look out the window and then decide whether to wear the waterproofs or just take them with me

I'm going to play either way, as there's just not enough Saturdays in a week

Yep same here in Dorset, they put out weather warnings, people running around buying work to build an ark.

Was out in the garden cutting the grass and cleaning my clubs by lunch time having last night called off our game for today.

On the plus side I now have clean clubs for tomorrow and did sneak in a quick 20 mile bike ride before the wife got home.

Done nothing but rain here since lunch, was goin out this afternoon for 9 but went to the range instead..... Monthly medal in the morning, out at 745..... With the rain that's fallen that's looking doubtful!!

Was prob my last chance this year too with work and other commitments.... Got nowhere near my handicap target but only managed 4 comps....2x0.1's and 2 buffers!!!

Rained early in the morning but was fine by 10 or so. Halfway to Walton Heath it was pouring and pretty bad there too. 3 holes of light rain then just cloudy and the sun even came out on 13/14!

Still played 9 this afternoon even though it was lashing it down. Fully tested out new Berghaus gortex jacket. Didn't notice any crinkle and so glad I bought it. Wet weather gloves will be my next buy. FJ in the shop didn't fit. Couldn't get the small on my hand and the medium were too big.

Met office is showing weather shouldn't be too bad tomorrow but will believe that when I see it. HimID in a monthly medal as well and last comp he did it was near monsoon rain all the time he was out.

Yesterday's forcast was torrential rain all day, it's was fairly bad but on and off. Dry last night, so hopefully the breeze will dry the course a little today. Sun and showers today so water proofs defo needed!

Its the problem with living having a maritime climate, I use the forecast as a guide, but looking out of the window is best.

In recent week where I am the forecast has been a very reliable predictor, take what the forecast says and you can be confident that the actual weather will be the exact opposite!!

Started raining here around 2pm on Friday. Reached biblical proportions during the night. Now the sun is shinning and the sky is clear. Wonder what else it will throw at us this weekend.

it pished down all day yesterday, was raining when I got up a 07:00hrs and rained all day with vaying degrees of heavyness untill about 23:00hr last night.

Hope not to see any rain today to give the course a chance to dry out a little as I have a 06:37 tee off tomorrow morning.

Cancelled a round this morning with mates due to the expected forecast, which was 8cm of rain to fall up to around lunchtime. Get up this morning to wet ground, but the sun shining merrily away.

And because I've cancelled, I'm now about to be dragged round ASDA... :(
