Hi

I'm about to book Woburn for myself and some customers I will be hosting for the day in late April. I would be very interested in your feedback on the courses to help me decide which one would be most appropriate. For info, I play off 12, customers are 18-22 ish.

Thanks.

The Marquess is maturing nicely and was designed as the championship course. Played it a few weeks ago and it was in surprisingly good condition. Some lovely holes but I have always found it plays tough, especially if windy.

The Dukes is lovely, enough of a challenge and, in the opinion of many of the members, the best course there.

The Duchess is very tight (pun intended, sorry). No seriously the fairways are very narrow and you really need to be straight off the tee to score well round it.

The carvery is excellent so make sure you have an appetite when you go in for lunch.

I've played the Marquess and the Dukes and, if I was going again, I'd play the Dukes. You won't be really disappointed with either but the Dukes is pretty special.

Just tell your friends to pack plenty of ammo!

Have a great time regardless.

Dukes, Dukes, Dukes and then the Duchess.

Marquess is designed for the tour and is wide open and pretty featureless in comparison to the other 2 gems.

If your there for the day, perhaps you will be playing two rounds. I played in a society day there, Dukes in the Morning, Duchess in the afternoon.
Recommend both of them.
Don't know if it's still policy but we had to change into jacket and tie for lunch, making it a little bit of a rush.
But, when in Rome. :)

Any of them - played the Duchess and walked the Dukes. Both fabulous courses.

But you wont go far wrong with any of the 3.

Never saw any evidence of the J&T for lunch!!??

The times I've been there it's just been golf clobber to sit down to a fantastic 2 course carvery that they do there. :p

I played there last Friday with a couple of friends. Marquess in the morning, Dukes in the afternoon.

tbh, I was absolutely exhausted when I played due to 3 nightmare weeks at work which kind of spoiled it for me. :( I'd been looking forward to playing for a couple of months.

From what I can remember. I preferred Marquess visually. Some stunning holes. But Dukes was also fantastic.

The course was a little wet in places but the greens were fast and true. Practice your chip out sideways shots before going

Food was brilliant, deserts were top notch. Give the bannoffe pie a go (or two :D)

Thanks for feedback. Due to the Dukes being unavailable on the day I need, have gone for the Marquess which sounds excellent.
