forgive me for posting here rather than 'for sale' as that seems to be for equipment. Also, if this post isn't appropriate then please let me know.
I'm looking for one ticket for each of the first two days of the Open this year, Thursday and Friday. I was unlucky in the ballot, and I'm hopeful of the resale when it starts, but if any-one thinks they can help then please let me know. I already have travel and accommodation sorted but the travel is time sensitive so I would like to get something sorted on the ticket front if possible. Many thanks

Hi - I do have a ticket available for the Saturday (appreciate this is not the day you are looking for), if at all interested.

This applies to anyone else who may be interested if not! :)

thanks for contacting me. I won't be able to take you up on the kind offer but thanks for getting in touch.

What resale ? Are they not all sold out ? Didnt get one for Troon and tried for tickets for this year but didnt get lucky either. I think that last time in Muirfield we bought them freely for sale with no ballot at all. Becoming like the Masters now.

I think resale is for people who got tickets in the ballot, purchased them and then can no longer attend or take up their full allocation. Interestingly on the ticket exchange websites, they are going for £210 upwards per day vs a face value of £120 at the minute, though no idea how given the actual tickets themselves aren't issued until nearer the time.

so you, me or anyone else who applied in the ballot and was unsuccessful will get an email saying the ticket resale is open and has a chance of getting a ticket.
I've looked in Viagogo where they are £175, and other websites offering them for a lot less, but I think those people then try to buy tickets from people wanting to sell, and then re-sell them. Be warned, the lesser known names have a reputation for letting people down at the last minute. I've even looked at the package operators, but they are charging a small fortune for hotel and ticket.
Hence my original post, if any-one has one spare for Thursday/Friday then please let me know.

Where are you staying? The reason I ask is, I looked at accommodation around Portrush/Coleraine and it was hard to get anywhere and very expensive. Booked accommodation in Belfast and rented a car to drive there.

I'm staying in a room in a private house. I got very lucky as the owner doesn't usually rent rooms out

I had a nosey the other day. You're right, the accomodation prices are absolutely insane. That's what happens when a big event comes to town I guess

I got the train from Belfast the last time which worked out really well. I think they put extra trains on.

£280 for a Premier Inn on the Friday / Saturday night which is frankly ludicrous, though at least the beer is relatively cheap in Belfast :ROFLMAO:

I was relying upon this! I know they did similar for the Gleneagles Ryder Cup a few years a go and they sold out instantly, so one to keep an eye on for as and when they do get released.

Yeah, contemplated that but after factoring in transport to and from airport and getting to Portrush, thought the easier way was just to rent a car from airport. I'm there for the final round Sunday, so staying Sat/Sun in Belfast fly back Monday morning.
