Just trying to gauge my progress in this remarkable game...

I'm 34 and I've been playing for 2 years this month and my best score for 18 holes is 84.

It seems like it's taken ages to get to a decent level but i'm looking forward to lots more practice over the winter months then improving next season and hopefully breaking the magic 80 :)

So, let's have it, how long have you been playing and what's your best gross score?

78 (net 61 / SSS 69) after only 18 months. Only broke 80 once but it is a psychological barrier like 90 and 100. Once broken it proves that you can improve and do it every time!

20 years on & off.

Five 67s on par 72 courses and a 62 on a par 67.

Best of 67 at my current club but that is par 70.

I started playing 18 years ago, but had 5 years out.
My best score in competition, off the whites, is 76.
My best none comp', off yellows, is 72.

Both on par 72 courses.

I can level par the front or back nine, but not together (yet). Best so far is 75, par 72 off the back tees, in the wind and rain. Been hacking about for 20 years or more.

Gross 66 many years ago. At my current club its 75 although I can do the front nine in one over and the back nine three over just not at the same time. Started in 1976 and stoped when I got to 19 and then dabbled a bit. Had a another go in my early 30's for a few years but only rejoined Ascot in 2005

Played few games a year from being a teenager to finally joining the club in 1993. At that point my best ever was 77 but off yellows and not in comp.

Since then I've had 68 in a stableford 4 years ago and 69 in a medal this season on a par 70. Aside from these I've never managed better than +2 at home or away.

This year its been a 66, -4 from the yellows.

Medal 71 +1. Still to break par from the whites at the Castle, infact I aint even come close to being under par. Birdied 2 of the last 3 holes to get to +1. Playing about 20 years.

This is my year to get down to 3! (Although been saying that for about the last 15 years, its a bit like the Berlin wall however I'm still chipping away hoping the barrier will fall!!!!)

I've been playing just over a year now, about 14 months.

Best round in a comp was 86 Par 71 off the Whites. Actually that was my best ever, just happened to be in a comp.

I think my very first round was 116, then a 120. 3 rounds later I'd broke 100 for the first time :D

Thought I had the game cracked. Oh how wrong could I be. Forgive me golf gods for not giving the game the respect it deserved :( I think you have punished me enough now :D
