Believe me I always play with a tool.... And if you are also unlucky enough to to be liverbirdies partner.... The grief he gives if you don't carry a spare will soon make you carry it..... If only to shut him up
I could maybe understand it if you have a course where your clubs are always within a few yards of the tee. But what about when you go to a strange course?
Weak/negative thoughts - why do some people then carry 40+ other balls in their bag? I sometimes go 5 or more rounds without losing a ball, but I still do it. Once I put the spare in my left pocket it's forgotten about, until needed. I have also never got it mixed up with my main ball, as I keep them in separate pockets. I've never had a major pocket malfunction yet.
Consider the following:-
You are playing a strange course.
1. There is a fairway where, like the previous group, you leave your clubs 100 yards up the hole, as the layout of the hole means you will be walking back this way. There is tight OOB on the hole. Take an extra ball? No.
You put one OOB, you have to walk 100 tads back to your bag, you put that one OOB also. Your mate does the same also. How would you feel being behind this group?
2. You are playing the 4th at Silloth in a 25 MPH left to right wind, your playing off the white tees and you have to leave your trolley down at the bottom of the raised tee, and 40 yards away. Still not?
Consider it as a good etiquette timesaving thing and make your own decision. I didn't for 10 years then someone pointed out to me and i did from then on, out of respect for fellow players and games behind. It's up to you what you do.:mmm:
Don't get me started on people not marking their balls, especially in comps.
Happy golfing y'all.
Now consider taking a spare club as well
SITUATION
Clubs 100 yrds away....
Tee Up
Knob 10 yards......
Walk 90
Pick another club
Walk 90 back
and hope to clear bag on second shot!
Yes I have done it ...............
PS I hit the driver of the floor to save time :swing:
With all these things being carried would cargo pants not be better on a golf course?????

Where do some of you guys get your trousers from? A few mahoosive pockets by the sound of it!!
I think they got hand-me-downs from that fella who was on channel 4 last night - poor sod.
He did carry an extra ball, though!
I'm surprised so many people carry a pitch mark repair tool with the amount of marks I've been repairing lately  absolutely my pet hate - I try to repair at least 2 on every green... leave it better that when you arrived...

Repairing 2 marks does not take long if you fix your own and 1 other, 5 seconds each max.Hope I never get stuck behind you on the course.
