Now, with a round a golf taking anything from 3 to 5 hours I was wondering what you guys take on the course. My partners take the mick as I have a large hot chocolate and two power aid zero's. And as I play in the morning after night shifts I eat a sandwich, two chocy bars and a packet of crisps.
now, I didnt think this.was exsessive until I started noticing alot of people "not eating". So what.do you guys take out there with you?

Oh, and i'm not fat. Just retaining a little water

I take a bag of nuts and a banana! It's not unheard of for me to take a sandwich out with me either, I like to eat on the way round, you need to keep the energy up!

Usually get my eyes ball ripped out by buying a couple of chocolate bars from the club shop, and a drink from the vending machine where a 2 pound coin may reap a 20p piece as change (if im lucky)

I think il invest in a flask for the winter and take some sort of cup-a-soup out with me mind..

Balanced breakfast beforehand does the trick for me - Eggs, tomatoes, beans, bacon, sausage, and maybe black pudding, with toast!:D Or a (bacon) sarnie/buttee .

Drinks like Powerade and Sustalyte taste good and quench thirst, but do very little for energy levels. Energy bars strike me as too slow release to be effective and are way too expensive for their 'benefits' imo. Bananas and chocolate too quick - but taste good too!

Bacon roll and tea before play.

Tea and Bakewell tart if available at halfway hut (or pint of Pimms if it is warm and I am at Sunningdale).

Post round - a pint of Gunners and a decent pint of bitter. Then, ideally a nice cold starter, rare roast beef, Eton Mess or bread and butter pudding for dessert, decent claret, coffee or a digestif depending on the time of day.

This is almost exactly what I had at Blackmoor. A proper club! Or at least it would be if they provided towels!

Sports drinks are for losers in my view. So are energy bars.

I have a Fruit & Fibre cereal in the morning and carry a few Fruit & Nut Chewy Trial Mix bars by Nature Valley. I have a Banana as I drive to the course. Plain water or a weak squash, none of these energy drinks or chocolate as you can't have a high without a low!

Large bowl of porridge before heading to the course. I find all I need after that is one or two Powerades (always the blue one) or Lucozade Sport (orange or raspbery) and two Nature Valley oat bar packs (so four bars in total). That always sees me through.

Usually a mince and onion pie. Sometimes a sausage roll and a pasty. And a couple of bottle of Lucozade, or a can of Stella

Only spoil myself once a week (full English) which i have before leaving home saturday lunchtime.Once at the course its a couple of banana's,an apple and a couple of litres of water, usually tap water, but use an old Evian bottle for visual effect.
Never really feel physically tired when playing, but have a habit of losing concentration on the last few holes, not sure that can be countered with food/drink.
