What do we think of this?

It's a mountain out of a molehill. Rory hadn't even got as far as the scorers hut when this happened and not sure how the kid got as far as he did with all the security about. It's a well known unwritten rule that the players get all the formalities out the way before signing autographs.

Depends on where and when this happened. Looked like he was on the way to the scorers hut or presentation and so hardly the ideal time. Stop and sign one and where do you stop especially if the card is still to be signed. Typical twitter over reaction. Almost like being on here at times

I wouldn't want a snotty kid pushing up to me when I've literally just walked off the green and invading my personal space either

Hmmm we are good at making mountains out of mole hills on here so why not now? Can the golden child not be spoken about in a negative fashion? This isn't the first time I've heard about Rory snubbing young fans.

 This forum is great... We have threads lasting days involving a player spitting but Rory pushing a young lad out of the way is ignored

Maybe you're better going on twitter expressing your outrage on there. Personally, it annoys me how people are constantly looking to have a go at someone over every little thing. It's a non-story unless you have a penchent for being un-necessarily offended.

My thoughts were the kid had rushed the ropes and shouldn't have been there, think there are designated autograph signing areas. Rory was trying to focus on winning The Open and that was not the time or place for an autograph so I don't hold it against him. Think he's got a guy back at the tee ejected for heckling a little before this so needed to focus. The twitter stuff seems ridiculously critical, think it looked worse than it was.

Feel free to say whatever you want about him, I still think this is a nothing story.

Does crack me up how we as people love to hate on others! How do we not know if he went out after and signed loads of peoples? The people giving him stick prob don't even give to McMillan nurses or children in need but I bet no ones gives them grief! Bloke does a lot for kids and many other charities!

I find myself agreeing with the majority.

You very rarely see players stopping to sign autographs before they have signed for their score.

They spend plenty of time after this signing autographs and having pictures taken.

Wrong place at the wrong time for the young lad.

To be fair if the lad should not of been there Rory could create an idea that it is OK to duck under the ropes for an autograph if he had signed it.

There is normally an area set aside for autographs so people do not jump under the ropes.

There was also a kid who ducked the ropes while McIlroy was playing and walking off a tee looking for some kind of fist pump, so not the first problem of the day. There's a designated autograph area
