I had a great game today. Part of the reason that I love winter golf is to get back to fun, banter filled 4 balls without the pressure of a card in my hand and we had a top one today. Considering that the lowest handicap out of the group was 14, it was generally taking par to half a hole but there was never more than a couple of holes in it. Chips and putts were flying in there was some great golf from everyone with everyone contributing. We eventually won 2 and 1 after my partner did a great sand save for a par and a half on the 17th.

Nothing resting on the game except pride (and a fiver) but one of those great, fun rounds.

30pts for me in a 13hole comp winter league (playing off 7) happy out , was level par through 10 holes 8 pars 1bogey , 1 birdie , double bogeyd 3rd last, one of our easiest holes, bogeyd next .. played very well for 12 holes so happy days..

Oooh, I think it was about 81 and then I turned my anger on a few shoppers after experiencing Sainsbury's busiest day for about a century

Already posted in another thread (won our 1/4 Final foursomes), but forgot to mention it was in my new FJ XPS-1 shoes.......the other guys were losing their footing quite a bit today, but I felt planted and secure all day.....think these could be good for the winter..

Saturday was December stableford and as of Sun 13.00hrs I was leading Division 2, 2nd overall on countback to Muncoscorner.

Ooo! What were the new Footjoys like?! Heard excellent things.

They were pretty good....my foot didn't slip once....comfy and warm as well, I think the extra padding in the cushioned insert acts as an extra insulating layer.

They were dead easy to clean with a tee every few holes. The placing of the spikes seems to help with this. With some of my other shoes, I can poke about with a tee for ages and not get the mud off.
I have always had problem with overactive foot movement and I feel that these shoes are definitely helping.

Although the outriggers look quite large when you hold the shoe in your hand, when you are wearing them and look down, you can't even see them.

I really like them.....
