Today was hard. My face actually hurts from the wind.
Playing Littlestone mid Am 36 holes on Tuesday....Forecast is 35 mph gusts
Then the next day is the 36 hole Mid am at North Foreland....similar winds forecast....
CSS could be interesting.
In answer to the OP's question. Our place today was blowing a real hooley. 3 cliubs on some holes.
We're a bunch of Southern softies down here and could never hack life on a seaside linksw
At least on seaside links you are unlikely to get hit by falling trees!
Played in a 36 hole open today and it was called off in the afternoon due to the winds. Very annoying as the winds had been forecast for several days yet the greenkeepers were out cutting the greens this morning. They were very quick before you factored in the wind. Balls were blowing off the greens in the afternoon. Very bad planning by the club really.
Jimmy Mullen (England player, +5 hcp) shot 13 over in the morning![]()
Very annoying Martin, especially as a lot of people had travelled a long way to play
Ironically, the start sheet was posted on a board in the clubhouse with the weather forecast pinned underneath it![]()
Saunton??
No that's next weekend, shouldn't really say as there is a very hospitable member on here who is always happy to sign people on, don't want it to sound as if I'm slagging off his course as that's not the case. Course was excellent, just the setup was at fault.

Shame. Maybe they thought the winds wouldn't get as bad as forecast. How did you get on in round one?
