Never had a problem with leakage but water will always find a way in through the lace holes. Regular cleaning and dubbin extend their life although I'll second Sealskinz socks as the way to go. That and a comfy pair of FJ's and I'm sorted
In the nineties I had a pair of rubber golf shoes. They were slip-ons with a lace for show. Comfortable and never ever had wet feet, even from the long grass.
Only reason I binned them after many years was because the metal spikes wore right down an rusted in the screw holes.
Why don't they make them any more?
Silly question I suppose.
Sealskinz socks, you can stand in puddles in these and your feet are dry, 100% waterproof.
These plus a decent shoe, most shoes that let in water gets in over the top.
Dunlop Ducks? Cut down wellies with spikes if I remember
Ha ha no one is made enough to wear shorts on a golf course, anyway it's socks that's the real problem, get the sock above your shoe wet and the sock inside your shoe gets wet so wet feet.not if you have shorts on![]()
Another vote for Sealskinz socks, incredibly waterproof & keep your feet lovely and warm in the winter. Not cheap, but worth every penny.Sealskinz socks, you can stand in puddles in these and your feet are dry, 100% waterproof.

Afraid I can't remember it was so long ago I bought them.Looking at getting a pair. Which ones do you recommend? There seem to be a few options, thin, thick, long, short etc. I don't want thick walking socks but equally I don't want tissue paper socks. I want normal thickness socks!
