Walking boots/Shoes

Saw a link to salomons above. I've had a pair of walking/running shoes for 2 years. They've been fabulous and I would definitely get another pair. They are x-ultras fwiw.

Shoes are funny things though, fit is everything, so someone else's recommendation is not everything.

Preferences are also very personal -

I prefer non goretex - dries out quicker, breathes better.
I prefer light weight over 'supportive' - extra weight on your feet is a lot of extra effort over a long day
I prefer shoes over boots - ankles have evolved over millennia, we wouldn't be here if they didn't work. Plus, if the ankle doesn't give, the force goes somewhere else (knees)

But YMMV and all that.
