John_R7 thanks for the advice, seems fair. I got a few lake balls recently which seem sensible for someone who is likely to keep losing them but also means I'm not playing with the same ball. Will get through these and then try a variety although don't think there is any need for me to spend a lot on premium balls at my level of play, can't imagine it would make such a massive difference to my game. Just wondered if soft was better than hard for a novice golfer.
