It’s not the inspirational speeches that every character has to break into every 10 minutes or the fact that Burnham, inspite of being a Starship captain and having a Vulcan upbringing is so over emotional in every situation, it’s the lingering, loving looks they all have to give each other now! It just grinds my gears!🤬

Gonna give Picard a go soon, bet there is none of that nonsense going on 😁
Save yourself some time and skip to the final season.

My 21yo daughter always has subtitles on. It’s a real pain trying to remember how to turn them off after she’s been round to ours!
I can't watch anything with subtitles. I end up reading the lines faster than the actors say them, which completely ruins their delivery of the line since I already know what they're going to say. And all the time you spend reading, you're not looking at what the actors are doing. I can't understand why someone would have subtitles on for a program that's in plain English. (Excepting for those who are hard of hearing of course.)

And those that have difficulty with accents, which are very prevalent these days. TV seems to make them more pronounced. Kin was one of the worst offenders (although a great program).

If I can't understand what they're saying then I'll just stop watching. I've no inclination to do the work for them by reading the lines myself!

If they are a teeenager, chances are they are looking at their phone at the same time as watching the programme. Bizarre as it may sound, having subtitles on helps them do both things at the same time.

The Opiod crisis caused many 100,000s of deaths through overdoses of prescription drugs and many millions being addicted to Opioids via a series of crimes and bribery by Big Pharma, more particularly by Purdue Pharmaceutical and the Sackler family. If you aren’t aware there are some incredible documentaries. Dopesick is a drama based on it. The actions of Purdue are simply jaw dropping resulting in countless deaths and untold misery for millions. This in turn caused the Fentanyl crisis engulfing many parts of the US now.

Just finished Dopesick - compelling, tragic, beautifully acted (in particular Michael Keaton), life affirming, horrific. Can’t recommend it highly enough.

The Fortune Hotel. ITVs attempt at replicating the success of The Traitors. Add in a bit of Deal or No Deal jeopardy. Rise and Fall tried to tap in to The Traitors audience…but the game rather failed.

TFH started last night and runs for two weeks - on Monday-Thursday.

Looks quite fun. Not sure I will connect with any of the pairs of competitors but who knows.
