Totally unfair?????

I dont do handicaps with anyone lower than me, I give shots but I dont want 'charity' shots 'given' to me, it can only make me a better player

Errr....so you don't use your handcap then?
And you're suggesting I play a PGA pro off scratch?
:D :D :D

A) read the post again properly and
B) I didnt suggest you do anything
however I have a few thoughts

Good for you

I can see both sides of this one. I agree with Smiffy's sentiments that its bad form if you've entered early and within the criteria to get bumped at the 11th hour when it got over subscribed. On the other hand as it was in the terms there was always a chance it would happen and I guess if its a decent event on a good course the chances of it being fully booked and going to the ballot process would be high.

Not sure if there is a right or wrong way to do this. If they are going to ballot then high handicappers will always lose out. However if they can guarantee a full field anyway then surely a first come first served (meeting handicap limits) is the fair way. I disagree that a competition is richer for not having the higher end in. Where do you draw the line then. Is it any better or worse if they limit was 12 and not 16 and a 12 handicapper won
