Tiger goes on indefinite leave

Remember that after his recovery from a broken leg / broken 5-iron / broken fire hydrant his first competitive match was at the Masters where he finished fourth! I can't see him repeating that but it's not as if he has to get three cards in before he can enter!

Granted but last time he didn't have the chipping yips or a drastic loss of form to worry about. It was about getting back to full fitness. He still has to contend with that as well

Ok so a week ago it was announced Tiger goes on indefinite leave, this week he pulls out of theHonda classic and Sky aren't sure how his upcoming schedule is affected by his injury etc..............

Have i missed something? Has he cancelled his indefinite leave?

American laws of lible and slander etc. are different to ours but seems to me that this may well cause quite a kerfuffle one way or another.

And as an aside...

Anyone know what a sleeve of those balls costs? Checked both American & Direct Golf and neither is listing them

Wow!
Does not sound credible but if any of it has any truth this is a disaster for Tiger and golf.
If the accusations on the ball are true, you can bring Nike and even Rory into the disaster zone!

Exactly. the whole point around paying people to pick up range balls and not signing them is stupid. If these guys are playing with them, then surely the tour can ask to test them at anytime.

He said about tiger not being any good before 99' he won 3 amateur titles, and a master before then! hardly bad!

sounds like a jealous child to me.

At least they won't have to cancel or change any major titles, as he seems to only accuse him on drugs after the '08 US Open, which was the last one he won. If that's the case, "the drugs don't work" to quote a famous pop song :D

I heard it more as 'he won all of his majors on drugs, they brought testing in in 2008 and he hasnt won one since'.

So he's been taking drugs forever, and yet he's been given a 30 day suspension ?!?

Really, what kind of drugs earn a 30 day suspension, compared to what 'supposedly' Dustin was using that gave him a 6 month suspension?

Edit... Some great details from interview

- tiger uses ball that spins 2-3 times more than anybody else
- rory now uses same ball, as was going to back out of Nike deal until he got that ball, his first season was poor until he got the Tiger ball !
- ball is collected by range guys and Nike pays them to do this.

For me, this guy should be tested for drugs!

All statements were couched in 'deniable' language imo. And just a load of coincidental stuff that isn't really need at this time. Currently Tiger is a has-been! And his accuser is a 'never-was'!

The 'suspension' period seems ridiculously small for a drugs offence and his lack of form and injuries were pretty obvious!

Wouldn't be surprised if Woods had used 'drugs' though - as in standard supplement ones that were legal at the time - to bulk up at one stage. That sort of 'treatment' was available to anyone.

Wood's strength was originally his length, but that advantage went reasonably quickly. His real strength has been his short game and clutch putting. The short game has gone seriously walkabout recently.

That rubbish with balls has been part of Woods's aura/mystique for some time. I don't believe there's that much difference between his/Rory's from anyone else's, though many players have their own 'recipe'! Rory gives plenty of his away!

I was going to post something similar regardin his ball.

Wasn't he rumoured to still be playing an older version (Nike One variant) that was now only produced for Tiger?

so the interview is hearsay and that guys opinion? to say Tiger gets an advantage using untested equipment smacks of uber jealousy. Dont all manufacturers give their staffers 'untested' equipment to try?

Wonder what brought this tirade on from this guy? attention maybe:mmm:
