This is the 80's

Growing up in the 80's, living in the midlands and being a Shane Meadows fan, i'm really looking forward to This Is England '86, the t.v follow on of the film This Is England, which starts next week. Should be full of nostalgia and some great tunes. Anybody else planning on watching?

Yes will be watching, havent seen the film before but nothing like a bit of nostalgia.

I just checked, "This is England" the film is on CH4 Monday and the '86 drama series starts on the Tuesday.

Well worth watching both. The films good, a bit dark in parts like most of Meadows' work, but got a feeling the series will be better.

I have a video called Italia 90 which was basically a documentary of a fan following England through the 1990 world cup from fights in campsites, riot police, the passion and joy at the matches to the ultimate disappointment. Watched it again a few weeks ago and it really brought back memories of 4 pint jugs of Fosters in front of me, front row seats at the pub, another 4 pinter for the 2nd half, having to go outside as I couldn't watch the penalites and how everyone in the pub came together for a few weeks as mates. Great times

And if you like 80s music, there is a great on-line station from the States that is free 977music.com. Listen to it all the time. Occasional ads but no DJs.

And nothing but 80s music. Classic.

'This Is England'. Is that the film about the kid who loses his father in the Falklands War and gets 'adopted' by the NF?

If so, I remember it as a disturbing piece about that era.

I was with Paul Stweart in the 80's (we worked together) and lets just say his dress sense never really left it behind. That and he does a mean Tiffany (I think we're alone now) on the karaoke
