This is just plain lazy

This is just plain lazy.............course design??

Flat and featureless.....hopefully it's just that hole

Gareth, for the love of god don't read what I wrote in the "bad etiquette" thread.........Anyhoo, bad stuff happens, the brown stuff rolls downhill and Stella gives me a bad head if I mix it with Whiskey.. All these things are worse than hitting a good shot into a divot...maybe the divot was destroyed (like mine usually are)...Still should have flattened the edges though...

Consider yourself lukcy - at least you know you are in a divot - had the previosu player repaired it and your ball sitting on top of it, you would have hit your ball 50 yards and then you would have been complaining about your ball sitting on top of a repaired divot

Called a "rub of the green" - fundamental part of teh game of golf and should contribute 2 to 3 shots of your handicap !

PS ... 2 seconds - ??? You dont hit your divots very far do you - get some lessons :)

i totally agree with you,

what grinds my gears is the lack of respect some members have for their own course not to repair divots,
i'm lucky to be a member of a fairly prestigous course, which i'm quite proud of, though sometimes i think i'm the only one, there a couple of holes that look like a mine field round the 150 mark :(

Ignore the peasants who do not replace divots. Replace your own and pick up any loose divots, walk on and place it in a divot hole if found. if we all did this our courses would be immaculate.

And we'd all be playing 6 hour rounds - sometimes there's so many unrepaired that you physically couldn't do this.
It could work if you picked up 1 but any more than that and you'll incur the wrath of the group behind.

Surprised you didn't just pick and place under winter rules if you are on the fairway. Problem solved. Not sure I'd be too worried about the length of grass at this time of year. Better a little long than too short and patchy

That was actually my first impression too, I thought the title about plain lazy was referring to the grass not being cut. Then I scrolled down a bit and seen the divot.... :-)

Yep, I thought that it was long grass on yer green hence the lazy title. Maybe it's the bottle of red I've had.

Your right ! No need at all!

However, lift , clean and place within 6 inches at our place during Winter! So would be no damage done!

Richart takes 'em like that with a hybrid. You want to see the damage he does with a pitching wedge
:ooo:

In my defence I would just like to say that I do replace my divots, when I have the strength to carry them back. I think of them more as turfs rather than divots.

I have to admit that i haven't replaced all my divots of late. Simply for the fact that i seem to be hitting some very thin divots which just disintegrate so nothing to put back. I like the divot sand repair buckets you get on some buggies.

Yes, but the tufts of grass next to the ball look at least as long as half the height of the golf ball which doesn't suggest close mown to me.

does it matter, clearly it is the fairway because he's not going to make that up now is he?

it annoys me aswell as i've been stuck in a few divots this year after hitting good drives.
