The Whisky Thread

I got a bottle of Dalwhinnie for my birthday. It’s a bit darker than normal and it’s a little peaty but still quite smooth. Nice with out ice .

What Dalwhinnie was it?
Winters Gold is a decent dram for not a lot 👍🏻
I had that one it’s the blue label and you keep it in the fridge .. the one I am on now is “the distillers edition “ this is aged in olorosa American oak casks. .. if that means anything.
I like Glenfiddich solera reserve normally

On Friday I am off to the inaugural Welsh Whisky Festival in Llandudno
Sponsored by Penderyn.

Slap up 4 course meal with paired whiskies, guest speakers on Friday

Saturday morning a tour of the Penderyn distillery

Saturday afternoon 30 plus stalls doing tastings and samplings

Going up by train, as I might have a bit of a head ache on Sunday morning 🥃🥃🥃🥃

Ooooh.... that could hurt as I like pretty much ALL Scots whiskies but from a brief visit I do find the Penderyn ones rather 'chemical'..... but you should know better after that session.  :ROFLMAO:

It's a Black Friday sleight of hand. I bought my current bottle on Amazon less than 2 months ago for £30.
In fact, just checked my link and it's £29 now. Typo?
Yes it was a typo, sorry meant to be £29.
My Mrs is going a bit daft this morning she also bought me an up to date laptop for £450.
Not sure what I have done to deserve that, perhaps it's the case that I always getting her hand me downs.

Was given a bottle of Cotswold single malt for Xmas.
Quite delicate, a little sweet, perfectly acceptable, but not really to my taste (I go for peaty whiskies).
Fortunately nothing like that Welsh poison Penderyn 🤮

Got to be honest - I'm not a spirits drinker. I bought these off a friend maybe 15 or so years ago and they have never been opened. Should I educate my palate or just give them to my brother who enjoys a whisky now and again?
