People are way too sensitive these days.
Love to be offended.
Just play football without ramming everything down our throats every 2 minutes.

Football is one of my ‘escapes.’ I don’t want other stuff in my football, and I definitely don’t want it used as a vehicle for virtue signalling.

I have no problem with other beliefs, creeds, gender positioning or whatever but I do have a problem with where those drums are beaten. Sometimes I, selfishly(?), want my time my way.

The demand for tickets both home and away matches has been oversubscribed for many years now...long before this process was adopted. Even when we are crap, the ground is still full.
At what price point does that stop? Are all Newcastle fans wealthy enough to pay £120 every week for a ticket?

A very well executed post.

Sadly, I think that ship has long since sailed. Around 20 years back Mrs H & I took 2 of our boys, age 19 & 17, to a match. £120 for 4 tickets + programmes + pies + parking.

Bargain back then. The way football is heading that'll be £120 each!!

I was in the US last year on business and got the oppurtunnity to catch a NFL game. $200 match ticket up in the gods, $16 for a beer, i spent a $300 on merch but theres no way i could justify that every week.
Drop the merch purchase and its still over $300 for ticket and couple of beers and food.

By the sound of it football isnt a million miles away from this.

Because those beliefs are rubbish.
I'm not personally a religious person, so I would probably agree with you on a lot of those beliefs. But, it matters not what I think, when significant people in the world do believe these things, and have been taught to do so from the day they were born. I have a big problem when people express hatred or discrimination to others due to their beliefs, and we should all feel the same. But, if somebody quietly believes in a way of life, and simply doesn't want to do something that promotes the alternative position, I'd feel very uncomfortable demanding they do so. Just like I'd be uncomfortable going to another country, and being told to act in a way that goes against my own beliefs, just because their opinion is that my views are rubbish.

As individuals, I think we should all be free to act as we wish, so long as our actions are not hurting or wishing hurt on others.

My question to you is does the black person who's had to listen to monkey chants or the gay man who listens to someone yell homophobic slurs not get afforded the same courtesy? it's not virtue signalling. That's allowing someone else the same time away that you wish for, without being told they don't belong where you are.

That’s up to the stewards to deal with.

Not sure if discussed today but rumours of ,finally, the 3pm blackout for broadcasting games might be lifted

About time

Get everything on a package , a lot of people get it the dodgy way anyways.. the best way to smash piracy is make the real thing affordable and simple

Doubt they make it affordable.
They’ll see it as a way to fleece the fans more than they do already.

Probably the Premier League etc realising that they have fleeced as much out of Sky etc as they can for what they have on offer and so will the charge a massive premium on the next TV deal to cover them. My guess, they will start outside of the usual football package and will be sold to the ever suffering fans on a pay per view basis.

Does that include game tickets?

That's another issue. But doesn't reflect the streaming rights

More people would avoid IPTV entirely if the legal way was affordable and simple

When sky want £80 or whatever a month. Plus netflix , Disney, paramount, apple TV, discovery sport. Prime

It's easy to see why people turn to iptv that costs £80 a year
