I’m content in as much as this will certainly not be the manager’s chosen starting lineup. As he said before the game, he’s gone with the players he has had the opportunity to work with in training in the short time he has been at the club.

I think thats common sense. Start a team hes seen in training.

Or Would you much prefer him to pick a team by using a tombola machine instead?

Yes but at least they looked like they were putting the effort in.

Some nice footy from both teams but final ball and finishing wasn’t great.

With the likes of Shaw, Mainoo and Mount available again, and Martinez to come back, I’m more than happy.

Let’s be honest, all United fans know there are players in that starting lineup who will not be starters when Amorim has had some time with this squad.

But the lack of cutting edge up front is a huge concern.

Impressed with some of the play from Ipswich - deserved better finishing

Man Utd had some good moments but most of it seemed to be from individual bits of excellence

Got some big choices as think Rashford is better from the wide areas and they would get more from Hojlund going through the middle

So someone from Garnacho , Fernandes and Rashford needs to miss out

Need some big personnel changes to get to his system and think to fund it some players need to be sold -again one of those three already mentioned

RIghtly so.

But, he's watched Rashford closely and he still picked him. If there was any doubt, he couldve had a free hit and picked A N.Other and had the full backing of the man united SM faithful.

Think having Mount there you can afford to let Fernandes go , and maybe it’s worth letting Garnacho go as well as don’t think his end product is good enough

Need to find a lot more intensity and certainly need players that run through brick walls and just keep on going , not sure players like Fernandes is going to do that

I’m surprised he went with Rashford through the middle. That’s the one selection today which surprised me - have Hojlund through the middle with either Garnacho or Rashford, both of whom were poor today, starting wide left.

Amorim needs to settle on his first choice back three, and I can’t see beyond Martinez, De Ligt and Yoro, once fit. He then has a number of choices to make and has options available to him pretty much everywhere apart from up top. His only option there, in this squad, is Hojlund. Rashford never has been a CF, and never will be. And Zirkzee looks a more curious signing every time I see him - does some really nice stuff, but has a real tendency to look baffled when he has time to make a decision.

There are too many players currently featuring on match days who simply aren’t the future. But equally Amorim does have players available to him who he can definitely work with. He just needs to find a way to best accommodate them. And that won’t happen overnight.
