To me, that could be closer to the truth of being the bare minimum. Rather than focusing on league position, seeing if there is a way the team plays that looks like it could make them better going forward into the future. Or, at least having a really clear idea who needs to be gotten rid of by the end of the season, who needs to come in, and then hopefully being able to build the squad again. A large responsibility in this area will be on the board, and doing well in the transfer market. They had their first taste of it last summer, and in fairness I liked the signings of Yoro, Ugarte, de Ligt and Mazraoui. However, I'm wondering if Zirkzee was their Fellaini moment, I hope not.

I think this would be enough for me at the moment, having a style of play that seems to be sending us in the right direction. Whilst the league is pretty tight at the moment I just can't see top 6 with the players were have at the moment, they just seem incapable but hopefully I'll be shown to be wrong.

A little late to the party but going back to yesterday's game, when Ipswich scored you'd have thought Hutchinson had just scored one of the goals of the season and even after the replays they're still going on about it. Did none of them see that the ball was going wide (or at best Onana saves it) but the deflection not only takes it back on target and over Onana? It was a good enough strike but wasn't going in without the touch of the United player. That said I thought Ipswich were good value for a point and on another day (without Onana) they'd have walked away with all 3.

He was shocking yesterday for 70 mins then gets mom from Carrager for scoring .😳
He won’t tackle anyone and teams have worked that out imo.

He’s a great footballer but I think Slot won’t be that bothered if he goes.

😂😂😂

Why does Mo need to tackle anyone

And for someone that’s been worked out it’s amazing that he is already in double figures once again

We need to keep him for another couple of years as he is still at the top of his game right now

If you're building a side around someone like Mount I think you need to lower expectations! Mount has never been anything other than a decent systems midfielder that relies on workrate over quality, so others can shine. This is also a player that's done nothing for nearly three years.
Nothing wrong with that. Every team needs the grafter that frees up the more creative players.

Seems very odd that Salah has not even received an offer. I get that the owners will not be held to ransom but at the least you would match his current terms on a 2yr deal and see what his agent says.

With the way the league is there is very much a chance of the team moving up the league with some results

The signings made were for ETH and his system , Amorin is a different system

But it’s also a brutal game and results are key and he will still need to find a way to get consistent results

I suspect it’s a case of playing it out on the media which I’m never a fan off

The agent and the club are negotiating , whilst he is and also VVD are superb , they are also coming into mid 30’s so it’s going to be a judgement call , can see the club looking at a reduced basic but with higher incentives

Guess it comes down to whether Salah wants money or glory. He could write his own paycheque in Saudi or win trophies if he stays. Personally I hope he stays, one of the most entertaining players in the Prem.

Why say there has been no offer though? I get it if he said the offer is not enough but to say no offer at all?

Are you my Sheffield Wednesday supporting mate? He said exactly the same thing in our WhatsApp group yesterday
