Like that game. Here's the list of everyone over £80 million, and whether I think they've been a success. Note, ranked in order of Euros, which is why the £ values are a bit mixed up

1. Neymar - £198 million to PSG - SUCCESS (although hard not to be a success in France at PSG, not worth the fee still)
2. Mbappe - £163 million to PSG - SUCCESS
3. Coutinho - £105 million to Barcelona - FAILURE
4. Felix - £112.9 million to Atletico - FAILURE
5. Fernandez - £106.8 million to Chelsea - FAILURE (only because of last season, Chelsea look better now and don't know if he has been a key part?)
6. Griezeman - £107 million to Barcelona - FAILURE
7. Grealish - £100 million to Man City - SUCCESS
8. Rice - £100 million to Arsenal - SUCCESS
9. Caicedo - £100 million to Chelsea - SUCCESS (looked a failure, but Chelsea decent now and a Chelsea fan I know recently gave him a lot of praise, so I guess he might be coming good)
10. Lukaku - £97.5 million to Inter - SUCCESS (I think, scored a decent number of goals)
11. Dembele - £97 million to Barcelona - SUCCESS (until injuries?)
12. Pogba - £89 million to Man Utd - FAILURE
13. Bellingham - £88.5 million to Real Madrid - SUCCESS
14. Hazard - £89 million to Real Madrid - FAILURE
15. Ronaldo - £88 million to Juventus - SUCCESS
16. Kane - £86.4 million to Bayern - SUCCESS
17. Bale - £86 million to Real Madrid - SUCCESS (despite how it ended)
18. Antony - £82 million to Man Utd - FAILURE (no caveats for that one)
19. Ronaldo - £80 million to Real Madrid - SUCCESS
20. Maguire - £80 million to Man Utd - FAILURE

So, out of 20 players to be signed for £80 million plus, I reckon 12 could be considered a success (60%).

Also, despite the Premier League having most of the money for quite some time, interesting how it is some of the big clubs in Europe have been the ones to spend even more absurd amounts of money. PSG are just silly. They should win the league easily in France without spending anywhere near that, but clearly desperate to buy the Champions League, and failed. Barcelona and Real have always liked spending big as well.
The Lukaku for £97mil was from Inter to Chelsea

I understand it is whether YOU think they were a success or not, but genuine question, how can you justify saying some of the players were failures when they won League titles, Cups, European titles and a World Club medal at these Clubs, yet players you have down as a success have won absolutely zero?

Because, I was judging it on the player, not the team.

Harry Kane was apparently the best player in Germany last year, and may still win something. Rice has been an important role at a very good Arsenal. If they continue this form, I wouldn't call them a failure, even if their team failed. Besides, those players are only in their 2nd season, could still win.

Then there are players who went to sides who won things, but doubt many would call them a success. Pogba, Lukaku, Hazard. Antony had won 2 FA Cups, not many will sing his praises. If you judged a player on what the team wins, Kalvin Phillips could be one of the all time most successful signings.

There may be 3 or 4 other players on that list where I just based it on a hunch. I don't follow La Liga anymore, so not a lot of research went into my decision

Heck of a game in Madrid - Dortmund without their best player giving Madrid a bit of a going over at the moment

Five match stadium ban for having a smoker’s cough! 🤣🤣🤣

The PL anthem will continue to be drowned out by the noise of booing at The City Ground!
A smokers cough that just happened to mean he spat just as the officials went by 😂

The same owner who previously chased down officials

Top night under the lights at the Citeh Ground.

Not the most classic of prime Premier League games but an entertaining night nonetheless.

Elliot Anderson is basically the Geordie Zidane; absolute joke of a player.

How we only paid £12m for Milenkovic, I’ll never know.

We’d have thrown away those games in past seasons; game management is so much better.

Can go 5th Friday with a win at Leicester 😳
A good ole fashioned east mids derby. 👍
