The point is you reach a point in the remaining contract where they either sign a new deal or you sell them. Get a transfer fee. Let them run down the contract, they leave for nothing. I get you can't stop them leaving but at least get money for them. To let valuable assets leave for nothing is terrible business.

I think I would rather they stayed the extra year - not going to get too much for VVd or Mo at their age and both have indicated they want to stay and I expect Trent is in the same boat if the contract is right
We have shown in the past that they are ok with players leaving on a free
Get a good year out of players like Mo and VVD as opposed to £30/40mil
It’s the same with City letting the likes of Gundegon go on a free and also KDB running his contract down
Munich do it regularly now as well

I always thought you looked better than your league position at the start of the season.
Just seemed to make silly mistakes trying to play it from the back.
Yes, but it's still only 3 points from a possible 12. It's been a tough run but at some point you have to win matches. You can't draw your way to survival.
