You start to wonder if someone just made that up. 10 sounds like an excessive number anyway but to exclude Howe when they claim to have talked to some English candidates seems pretty extraordinary. As you say, let's here the names of the other 8 (we won't unless some mischievous person at the FA leaks it unfortunately)
Perhaps Carsley was one I suppose? Frank Lampard?

I’m sure I heard Tuchel say “ he applied for the job” in his press conference.

The FA said 10 people were interviewed for the England job. I'd have thought Eddie Howe was bound to be one of them, as one of the front runners. However, he has said today he wasn't interviewed, or even contacted by the FA at any time. So, I wonder who the 10 people were?

We know Tuchel was one of them. I'm sure Potter must have been one of them also, given he isn't in a job so an easy one to talk to. But, what about the other 8?

Suspect out of the ten people the interview was - would you like an interview

So it was prob

Potter
Howe
Carsley
McKenna
Pep
Klopp
Tuchel

Then a complete guess at 3 others

You'd think for that type of high profile job, where you have a good idea on the profile of the potential candidates, you'd already be able to have a really good idea who you want. Or at least the top 2 or 3 contenders at least.

So I agree, interviewing 10 people seems a bit crazy, because it would seem that you don't really have a clue who you want at that stage, and you need 10 interviews to sway your decision.

If you had already said Tuchel is your main man, you contact him, interview him and hopefully employ him on the spot if you are both singing from the same hymn sheet. Whereas, if your first few choices say No (after already accepting an interview, meaning they were open to the idea), then you move onto your next choice. You'd like to think Tuchel wasn't their 10th choice :ROFLMAO:

Good game:

Tuchel
Potter
Carsley
Lampard
Gerrard?

@Arthur Wedge they said interviewed. Do we really think Pep and Klopp were interviewed? Maybe, seems a stretch
I don’t think Pep would suit England anyway.
His teams are drilled to the ninth degree ,that’s why there so good.
He just wouldn’t have the time with England to do that

Or maybe he might.
But am just hoping a very strong mind like Tuchel can sort them out.

I really don't understand this timeline;
- MGW gets sent off for a second yellow card against Brighton
- Him and Nuno complain about the decision to the officials
- an independent board decide that the 2nd yellow was the WRONG decision (and thus MGW and Nuno's complaints were justified) and that he shouldn't have been sent off. Can't appeal because it was a second yellow (fair enough).
- End result - after further review by the FA, Nuno suspended for complaining. Gibbs-White banned twice for same incident.

That was my thought, in no way doubting his ability as a manager but only having the players a few days before each match and also having to work a system around what is available may not be ideally suited to the way he runs a team. Then again, that is a hurdle that many club managers may struggle with and why success at club level is no guarantee of international success and vice versa (Southgate was at best a mediocre club manager but managed to bring on an international team very well).

They admitted the FA charge 🤷‍♂️

You can’t abuse officials

Still seems baffling. Bit like double jeopardy for Gibbs White. I suspect the admission was influenced by the fact he's got an ankle sprain so would be likely to miss a few games anyway.

Also, 100% agree with not being able to abuse officials...unless it's Anthony Taylor :). Glad he's (finally) been punished by being demoted to the Championship. Wonder how long it'll last.

It’s very rare that when someone is a charged that any appeal is successful it’s prob why most just accept the charges

Also a very good point.

As an aside, I wouldn't be so arsed about them being charged, but it comes back to consistency of officiating and charges again and again.

Nicholas Jackson smacked Morato in the face, plain as day, when it all kicked off with Chelsea the other week...yet he's not so much as been talked to about it. Just completely ignored by the FA? But last time I checked, you're not allowed to hit other players in the face?

Think many are surprised that nothing has happened to Jackson when the video was clear - even if he didn’t connect he raised his hands

I thought we did this to death a while ago. You might think Morata got smacked in the face, but it is clear from reading the comments of many others, they absolutely don't believe it was a smack in the face?

Seems to fit the definition of "subjective"

P.S The above is based on my memory of what was being discussed in here, if memory serves me correct it was about that particular incident?

I've been busy with work, so definitely missed that, apologies!

Not really sure how anyone who's seen the video thinks it's "subjective" though - he clearly slaps him in the face - Morato's head doesn't just spin on its own. 🤷‍♂️

Not really surprised - on we move.
