At least the praise is warranted,no?

Oh don't get me wrong, he's amazing of course. But all the media hype around him has the potential to be a bit OTT and possibly even damaging - as we've seen in the past.

I believe this award was voted for by fans and it just smells of people jumping on the bandwagon of hype.

All that said, I like the guy and rate him highly! Some of his interviews have been nothing short of hilarious, he seems to have his feet on the ground and hopefully will continue to ignore the noise and just keep performing. I had to chuckle at his reaction to the melee of handbags that happened in the Forest Chelsea game. Not sure if people saw it, but while everyone else was piling in, he just sat down and watched it - like a little kid who was watching bigger kids have a fight! :ROFLMAO: Thought that was a brilliant reaction!

It’s just what the media do,they’re probably trying to find some dirt on him as well.
His interviews are funny, certainly not the brightest, just seems to love playing football.
Great business from Chelsea, for once 😉

Plenty of players in the past weren't the smartest cookies and very poor in front of a camera. As long as he's doing it on the pitch not sure he or the club will care and all have media training now

Would you take Palmer or Foden?
Surely Peps got to be regretting selling him,Palmer was happy to go out on loan.

I'd still take Foden as he's been prepared to bide his time, learn his craft and accept some time on the bench. I don't know for sure but assume Palmer wasn't as patient and wanted away? Otherwise I'd have kept both :)

Palmer being a bit bigger and more physical probably translates to most teams well, I think Foden needs to be in a ball dominant side to get the best out of him.

He is a quality player - interesting to see how he develops further.

My only fear for him is the basketcase of a club he's playing at doesn't normally provide a consistent approach.

Don't want a manager coming in and trying to change what makes him great.

I guess with Foden and also Grealish plus Doku arriving ( and also Alvarez ) then can see why he would look to move on - not sure if he would have got many chances

I think other teams will be eyeing him up soon enough - the likes of Madrid etc

I cant see Madrid going after him, they're absolutely stacked in midfield and forward lines with very young players.

Not really sure on where else he moves, but then Chelsea will pay top top wages so no need really!

He wasn’t, he wanted regular football and Pep wanted him to stay. But Palmer wanted regular football. it is odd how all of a sudden people have sat up and taken notice of Palmer. He has been like that for a couple of seasons and performed very well in the City team. I said so at the time but it seemed the comment was rose tinted glasses. It wasn’t.I said at the time he is as good as Foden, pep wanted Palmer to follow the same route as Foden and not Sancho. Didn’t turn out well for him.
I hope Palmer does not end up being burnt out as a player. At City he would/ was rotated.Am not sure that’s going to happen at Chelsea as he is central to them. What seems to be missed by a lot of folk re Palmer is his manager. Enzo Maresca. His path is a well trodden path with a lot of experience. Similar to Pep. He has worked with Palmer whilst manager at the Elite development squad at City. He knew exactly what kind of player he was buying and is a manager who can improve the player.
For the record City have a good few others coming through the academy inc Oscar Bobb who has suffered a bad injury. The acadamy had earned over £500 million in sales for City.

Maybe not a direct replacement but the lads that good I would find space for him

Yeah I agree - but don’t see it as a signing that would happen tbh

He could play as false 9 or in the Dom role but it’s not a player that we would look at and it’s certainly not a player that Chelsea wouldn’t let go for anything less than £100mil
