Guess it will depend on how much revenue the club or ladies side is bringing in

The tickets shouldn’t be silly pricing anyway but no idea on the level of wages the ladies are on
At Newcastle you can get an adult season ticket for £54, standing, £70 seated. £10 for a junior, standing, £20 sat. That covers all league games. That isn't generating much income for professional teams.

Chelsea home games, adult prices are £10-20, kids were £5-10. Again, that isn't covering costs, it can't be. I'd imagine Chelsea probably charge more than any other team.

Blimey that isn’t much at all

Looking at various reports

Man Utd have the most revenues around £8mil ?!?

Each clubs wage bill is over 75% of the clubs income and every club makes a loss

Some get funding into the income from the parent club

Media deals aren’t great at all for them

It’s tough to see anyone above him

Days gone by there was

Banks , Yashin , Zoff

Then recently

Casillas , Neuer ,

Would have Buffon above them though
Casillas wasn’t actually that great a keeper. A typical Madridista that flattered to deceive.

Canizares was a better keeper but his big issue was he was just absolute bonkers. A total liability not for goal keeping but for temperament.

Valdez was also a better keeper for me but let his mouth get him expelled from the RFEF really early in his career due to his (along with Oleguer) Catalan separatist views.

No he didn't - he hit it into the middle of the goal. It was barely a stretch for Raya - he just needed to make sure he got his hand behind it with enough strength to knock it clear of the goal mouth. If the ball had been hit to the corner, he'd have struggled to get near it (and had he saved it in that instance, it would have been much more impressive)
You are bundle of joy😀. It’s a great double save in the context of what Raya did and the match situation, albeit made possible by some crappy finishing. Then again I think all great saves are made possible by the finish giving the keeper a chance, Pele should have gone back across the keeper.😜

My two pennuth worth re keepers and saves. If a keeper has his positioning right he can make tough saves look very very simple.
That said I thought it was a very very good double save. If the second had gone in I would be narked the defenders had not got back and done there job.

What made the save so good, most notably the second part of it, was the speed with which Raya got himself off the deck to make that second element of it even possible.

Anyone who has ever played in goal will tell you the athleticism required to be able to even give yourself the chance of making the second save is absolutely unbelievable.

Sure, the poor penalty and less than impressive second attempt gave Raya the opportunity to make the stop, but without an exceptional degree of athleticism it wasn’t happening.

Great goalkeeping. Not the best ever, not even close. But great goalkeeping all the same.

According to footballwebpages.co.uk the average attendance during the 2023/4 season for the Women's Super League (top tier) was just under 7,400 with only Arsenal (30k) and Man U (11k) getting average crowds greater than 10k....so it is unlikely that costs are being covered...especially when matches are played at a clubs "main" home ground....perhaps they might be, for the bigger clubs, when matches are played at training grounds. Chelsea's average attendance (seeing as you quoted Chelsea matchday prices) was 5,804.

It will be interesting to see what the attendances are for the Newcastle Ladies this year after promotion to the Women's Championship. I think Kingston Park, where the ladies usually play, holds around 10k...not sure what they averaged last season but the final game drew a crowd of around 7,000.

Be nice to see a few games held at St. James' Park....on the handful of occasions they've played there the crowds have been between 22 and 28 thousand....and that was in the 3rd and 4th tiers of the women's game.

I went to one at St James, there were 25k there. Think it was £6 for adults, kids were either free or £1. There were a lot of young girls there with their teams, young kids with their grandparents. Considering how hard it is now to get a ticket for the mens team, it is a chance to take your kids to St James, at a very affordable price.

I think they have the balance about right, keeping St James for 'event' matches. Keep it a novelty.

Two defensive errors from Dinos costing us ..

We have had more chances. Not sure why a pen wasn't given when Summervile was pulled down in the box (think it's staying with on field decision?) offside goal correctly disallowed.. but we are pushing

Interesting j-lo not afraid to go full Jose and change it midway through the first half (bringing soucek on) when he thinks we need a change

Think j-lo has to hold his hands up and admit his tactics were all wrong today. Line up was decent. We have created lots of chances but a high line against the pace in that Chelsea attack wasn't good

Give him credit he has attempted to change it

Disappointed he took off Summerville, he was our best outlet especially bringing on the busted flush that is Antonio

Surprised he hasn't taken Dino's off for todibo , he was at fault for all 3 goals by being out of position and jogging back

More passes, more chances , more possession, more corners yet more goals conceded. Every single one of the goals was incredibly poor from a defensive perspective. Very surprising given j-lo is a defensive manager.

Tactics didn't work today.

Going to be some time to get this transition going.

Well played chelseas front line though, they were clinical when it mattered

Erik ten Hag is nothing if not unpredictable.

Marcus Rashford was seemingly undroppable. Plays week after week, despite some utterly dire performances. Last week he scored. In the week he scores two more. There were glimpses in both games that his confidence may be returning. So, in an inspired piece of Fantasy League management I have brought him in from the wilderness into my starting lineup.

What does ten Hag do? Bench him.

Thanks a lot.

I assumed Ugarte would start. Ericksen and Mainoo in the middle, interesting.

I guess he was hoping to play Rashford into a touch of form, before starting Garnacho and Amad, who also both have done enough to get a look in to start. I'm sure he wants all his wide players in form, and all understanding that they will get a good number of starts, but will also need to be impact subs in other games. Good in theory.

I have to say it’s a far stronger bench than we’ve had in a long time.

As regards Ugarte, it’s rather predictable management. One thing ten Hag has shown is that he is very reluctant to start new signings in their first few games at the club. Although, given the issues United have had for months in front of that back four, I’m rather surprised he didn’t make an exception in Ugarte’s case.
