Apparently he had a decent game. Still hoping he won't play obviously - now we've signed this Dutch lad. Last I heard I thought we'd flogged him to Spartak Moscow?? Must have fallen through.

Heard some good reports about Van de Ven looks a good signing in a much needed position, if we can get Bentancur back fit it will make a big difference, defense still looks weak though.

Bentancur is still going to be out for another two months apparently, which is a shame. Made it all the more weird that they were talking about selling Hojbjerg but who knows. Need Bissouma to step up now, he's been given the number 8 shirt as a show of faith! On paper we have a reasonable side now. Royal, Romero, de Ven, Davies/Udogie; Bissouma, Hojbjerg/Bentancur, Maddison; Kulu, Kane, Son. Any injury to defence or midfield though and the cracks will appear.

City are apparently interested in Paqueta from West Ham. Now I saw him play for the Hammers last season v City and he was immense. I said as much on the forum.
If City buy him West Ham could afford to buy Maguire. 🤔😳😖

West Ham have already sold Rice and not replaced him, we're three days from season start, surely they don't sell Paqueta as well. That would be sheer lunacy.

I guess that depends on what the owners want, for a team in West Ham’s position it could be they’d rather have the £60 million (no idea what the fee would be though).

Looks like Harry Maguire is off to West Ham for £30 million.

Good luck to him.

I'm sad for him that it didn't work out for Man Utd. He clearly has his limitations in possession and speed / acceleration, but I think his biggest hurdle was confidence. It is unfortunate he became the target of instant criticism any time he made the smallest error, his price tag, being captain and playing for one of the biggest clubs all helped lead to this. I always felt he was a pretty decent defender, but just not up to playing the way Ten Hag wants in comparison to Varane and Martinez. He also wasn't helped by having a pretty shambolic midfield in front of him for a few years, and a keeper behind him who seemed to lack communication skills.

I think he'll do really well at West Ham, and I really hope he does. Despite his issues, he seemed to remain professional at Utd, didn't throw his toys out of the pram and continued to try and fight for his place.

Apparently you are wrong - see post above :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
Some people really can argue about anything

If Maguire is realistic with his demands then this will be a great signing for us, and Moyes will get his new captain. Still need to bring a few more in though, badly need a striker and to complete the Alvarez deal.
Think an improved bid for Mctominay is worth making too. Great player especially for Scotland where he has a more attacking role.

Yernited have done well to get £30m for Maguire. He's garbage.
That's not true. He was completely unsuitable for Man Utd because he's not a ball-playing defender, and when he tried to be he cocked it up and looked like a donkey. But under Moyes he'll not be asked to fanny about with it. Get back to doing what he does best - headers, clearances, blocks and tackles. I think he'll be superb for them.
