I don't really see why Kane would be that enamoured with a move to Bayern. Yes he'll win 3 Bundesligas or whatever, but that's winning trophies on easy mode. He won't be remembered for that. But if he stays in England and becomes the new record goalscorer, he absolutely will be remembered for a long, long time.

A record that can be broken and that most really don’t care about

Going to Bayern will also put him into the CL and into a team that can win the CL

He has three children aged 2 to 6 and his wife is pregnant with a fourth. Not impossible but would be quite an upheaval to move them all to Germany right now I think.
As good an age as any to move them.
There'll be plenty of English schools and expats for a social life.
When you're as loaded as him, there's really no problems that can't be vanished away.
He'll be back before they go to senior school.

Well, that is probably garbage. Alan Shearer is a legendary Premier League player, and it isn't because he won the PL with Blackburn.

Even if Harry Kane won a trophy with Spurs, I don't think it would massively raise the admiration he gets from Spurs fans, or any fans. He is already highly admired and well known throughout the world due to his goal scoring exploits, and if he goes on to break the record then it sets him apart from the rest.

It was reported he had already agreed terms with Bayern though. If true, then this point wouldn't be relevant, as he has already factored that in. Unless he forgot his wife was pregnant?

I thought that was known as 'tapping up' and against the rules!?
They weren't tapping him up, they were bidding with his club to buy him, and made a personal agreement with the player. The only thing stopping him leaving is Levy.
There was nothing underhand going on.

Maybe Kane doesn't want to go to Newcastle? They may be able to afford his wages, but still don't exactly guarantee him trophies as much as other clubs nor are they considered a massive global club (yet).
More like his missus dosnt want to live out of London.
Kids schools etc.
sometimes it’s not just about money.
but we’re only guessing.

Bayern are not going to keep bidding for the player if they don’t already know that Kane will sign for them

It’s standard these days for clubs to know a player will agree the terms before signing and clubs can ask to speak to players or agents before bids are accepted

I know everyone does it - I'm just saying they used to call it tapping up and it used to be against the rules. Now a blind eye is turned.
