The dreaded bandit or short game wizard....

So all forum trip scores need to be submitted ...

"Under competition conditions"

So has to be off a measured course , not including any gimmies , using correct Congu HC and run by an Congu affiliated club.

So basically the people searching for the prizes in things like Trilby Tour etc wont change because they don't play the comps under Congu Competition conditions same with Forum meets and societies etc

The ones that will be reported back are the scores gained at Opens run by affiliated clubs

Sorry Phil, you are wrong,

Please see below, taken directly from the Q&A sheet that comes with the changes:

"Where a society plays an individual competition at a club, does the Club have any responsibility to return scores?

No – where the Club is not running the event, it does not have any obligation to make enquiries or return scores. However, the individual club member has an obligation under the CONGU rules."

What if I have a cracking score in a charity day, putting, no gimmies. Can I return that score to my club?

If no gimmies and full HC and "competitions conditions" then I would put the score on file for evidence if required at AR

Same for Trilby/Finch Tours as well then as they play under "competitions conditions"

How will your club know if you have played in one of these non qualifying events.

Why not make it as simple as if you win a prize at away day, its the away clubs responsibility to contact the home clubs with the results. It can be done in two minutes by email.

The link I posted states that if the individual fails to return scores that can effect their handicap, the home Club can take action under CONGU Rule 24.1

The other issue is that events not organised by the away Club but held at their location, the responsibility lies with the individual, so even if we held a Forum meet and played it under "competition conditions" then I guess those scores should be handed in.

Away clubs that host Opens etc will be required to send the top 5 results back

The other events won't and because they will use things like 3/4 HC etc or their own HC system which most societies do then it makes them not under Competition Conditions etc because they won't be using Congu HC guidelines. We had a county meeting about it all with a Congu rep.

In Germany, all qualifiying competitions are reported by the golf clubs through a central system. So no matter where I play in a comp in Germany, be it in an open comp or a "tour" event of some kind, my handicap is adjusted automatically and my home club will know about it and the new handicap automatcally used for the next comp. It is only if I play in a qualifying comp in another country, that I am required to report the results to my home club.

the problem here is some organisers tweak the rules to make the comps non qualifying and hence not have the onus of returning scores

Glad this is being addressed.

i played a league match against a local club, they recorded all their scores and even putted out in a 4bbb. Said their handicap sec was taking it very serious.

If the link works, it once again shows how team scenarios should be dealt with, sometimes think some of these willing volunteers make it up as they go along rather than read the information supplied properly.

If that's aimed at me then I think it's time you grew up and stopped the snidey remarks just because you're ignored

To suggest someone is making it up as they go along goes against that person integrity- everything I do in Regards Handicaps and Competitons is within the rules - I have been in meetings and conversations in Regards these updated rules to ensure I'm doing everything correctly. Yes I have responded to you because you are suggesting something which is out of order.

LP I dont think anything has been aimed at you, he was replying to Dasit.
Methinks you may have been a tad hasty in your remarks.
