Have a look at the attached picture. I've gotten to single figures and in the winter too where strike has to be so precise especially around the greens, the ball doesn't go so far (a problem for an already short hitter) and the course is soaking. Add in the fact I am now 58 with a bad back, have taken on a totally unique swing (Eureka Golf Swing -
) and a flaky short game.

Never give up on the dreams and don't believe those on here that say you reach a natural plateau. You have 2 options, keep doing the same things and winder why things aren't getting better and you aren't getting better or work on it, have a dream and a plan and keep working and seeing where it takes you

To those of you that said I'd never get there (infringement) and to the many on here that were always supportive thanks for all the support and encouragement. I am realistic to know it may not last but now have a playing handicap of 8 off the yellows and a WHS of 9.2. If I can take this into the summer who knows but even if I do go up again, The Quest For Single Figures has been achieved. Not going to bother staying around online as I am sure the knockers will be along shortly but let me tell the open minded that it can be doneIMG_0477.PNG

Wow, fair play Martin! Been a long time coming mate. I didn't stick with the Eureka set-up, but it did give me a better understanding of my swing and what my pro was trying to get me to do.

Well played. 👏🏻👏🏻

Congratulations mate! Brilliant achievement to get to single digits, one I aspire to at some point too (with a lot of work needed) :ROFLMAO:

Congrats Martin. What does the asterix mean, I havent ever seen that
It was a penalty note as I put a card in on MyEG and the attester never approved it despite emails from myself and MyEG. After 5 days it was posted with a warning although felt it was a tad unfair as the issue wasn't mine. At least that is what my handicap said 🤷‍♂️

What was the reason for not attesting? Especially as you know here was chance of achieving your goal.

It’s normally when you NS some holes or NR a single hole

I have one where we put cards were entered on a comp where it was 15 holes only but still counted towards HC

Think if people did the same at H4H West Surrey it would give an *

It gives a bit of a mad differential

Well done Martin! Back to the promised land.

What counts as single figures nowadays? Index or playing handicap? I don’t know what the course index of royal ascot is so it’s not a specific question

Playing handicaps vary a lot so I'd say its a Handicap index lower than 10.0

I thought if a score wasn’t approved by someone it got deleted?

Not trying to take away from your achievement, just curious.

Maybe the course had holes closed and then players get expected scores 🤷‍♂️

So you have one score that is a complete outlier that you say has got you to single figures, but it just happens that the person you played with is effectively refusing to sign your (electronic) scorecard?

How can you put a score in without the bloke attesting it being right there with you after the round?

Nothing dodgy about that

Now now. Be kind!!! However there does seem to be a wider issue of attesting cards in the greater ascot area
