Never Stop Believing

Sadly with too many people arguing to the nth degree on any subject and the trolls on a constant knocking campaign I've decided to post on an as and when (except the footie prediction league) as it was/is doing no good for my mental well being. Given my day to day job in ICU is has become too toxic a place to stay around and keep my mental health above water and I don't want to go back to where I was post covid. I can't do that climb back up again and it wouldn't be fair on my wife to get that bad again. There are only a few that fit into the roles but the minority has definitely spoilt it for this forum member

It’s a shame some people can’t keep their opinions to themselves. Will be a shame if you don’t hang around but it’s understandable.

Well done on your achievement, brilliant work.

Must have missed some posts because it looks like everyone has been positive about someone reaching single figures again 🤷‍♂️

TBF that's what forums are, as long as it doesn't get personal then then I don't see a problem.

Have a look at the attached picture. I've gotten to single figures and in the winter too where strike has to be so precise especially around the greens, the ball doesn't go so far (a problem for an already short hitter) and the course is soaking. Add in the fact I am now 58 with a bad back, have taken on a totally unique swing (Eureka Golf Swing -
) and a flaky short game.

Never give up on the dreams and don't believe those on here that say you reach a natural plateau. You have 2 options, keep doing the same things and winder why things aren't getting better and you aren't getting better or work on it, have a dream and a plan and keep working and seeing where it takes you

To those of you that said I'd never get there (infringement) and to the many on here that were always supportive thanks for all the support and encouragement. I am realistic to know it may not last but now have a playing handicap of 8 off the yellows and a WHS of 9.2. If I can take this into the summer who knows but even if I do go up again, The Quest For Single Figures has been achieved. Not going to bother staying around online as I am sure the knockers will be along shortly but let me tell the open minded that it can be doneView attachment 56803
Nice work.

Congrats on all the hard work paying off. I used the Eureka stance for a while during the season and played some great golf for a while with it. I'm not sure why I've went back to a more traditional stance, it just worked it's way back in after a couple of bad rounds.

Congratulations, Homer. I don't post on here much but have admired your persistence with your goal over the years and it gave me a smile to see that you got there. Might be time to set yourself a new and tougher target now...
