Golf’s Major Problems

I'm at a par 70 course that was SSS 69 off yellows and 71 off whites.
It has course ratings of 69.1 and 70.8.
Plus ça change...

For many years prior to WHS all courses (except England men's) were rated using the USGA standard. England adopted the USGA system a few years prior to WHS.
The (CR) was calculated to 1 decimal place. But CONGU was still using SSS (a whole number). So the CR was rounded to produce the SSS.
