Am I allowed to express irritation at the use of the word "Turbo" on electric cars? I've just had to waste 30 minutes seeking confirmation that nobody has invented a method of turbocharging a fully electric motor.
Is anyone here running a VW ID7? What’s the range drop off in winter?
Looking at the GTX Touring. Seems like the ideal golfers car. Big, quick, comfortable estate.
If it's 20% at 5 degrees, what is it when it hits -5?Not running one myself but rule of thumb for range drop off is 20% once it hits 5 degrees outside

What do you look like after you’ve been hit by a car?

A EV battery cost £10,000 to fix!
Well, if you have access to a Bosch service centre and previously fixed F1 cars you can fix the same battery for £150
Interesting video from Edd of Wheeler Dealers.
I had a beer with a friend on Friday night, he has a Tesla, had it a couple of years. Loved it, wants to get rid now. Too many updates, updates that interfere with the central screen, make it too busy. Anyone else have a Tesla and find that irritating?
He said you couldn't really get rid of stuff on the screen, which is bizarre when it's a touch pad device.
Incidentally, he wants to get another electric car, he likes them. No EV bashing here
Early stages. We was muttering about a Skoda but I don't know which one. What's he considering? Might find everything else a come down after a Tesla

Shame about his Tesla experience. I did a journey with him once, it was a lovely car.
As you well know, best charging network, probably best battery tech etc. Really good cars. Shame about the big central tablet screen.I really fancy a Tesla as the next car, just not sure if and when it's worth actually changing. Our salary sacrifice scheme starts by April so could save a shed load in tax but as the wife reminds me when it would replace hers ,which we own, would it be better off just keeping it

Finally took the plunge and picking up our first EV on Wednesday, which will become my partners when mine is delivered later in 2025, certainly won't miss the amount of time I currently spend in the petrol station!

How long do you spend in the filling stations?
Which one did you go for? Which home charger you going for ?
I was doing up to 25k a year in a car that was lucky to get 30mpg, so quite a long time!
We have a 7kw pod point home charger already, my parents have had an EV for a while and the 3 pin wasn't cutting it when they visit.... I got the BMW IX1 30 for my other half, and by some stroke of luck she agreed to let me get a Taycan Turbo S as an early midlife crisis present, would quite like the GT but don't know if the extra power that I'll never use is worth losing 50 miles of range
