A few weeks ago I played our handicap k'out against another 5 handicapper. A ding dong battle and a 1 down loss. Happy with the way I played but just didn't win.

Next, our Calcutta k'out is played as half the difference is what you would start up or down, then played off level. For example, a 10 h'capper playing a 20 h'capper would start 5 down. I had to concede as work just got in the way.

Today was my scratch matchplay, and I'd been drawn against a very handy 2 h'capper. 2 over gross and 2 down at the turn became 1 up after 13 but all square after 14. A 15ft birdie putt on 15 and a chip in birdie on 16 saw me 2 down. And a missed birdie putt from 10ft on 17 saw a 2&1 loss. 4 over par and another loss.

So after many very good years in the club matchplays recent years haven't been kind. Is this what old age is all about...:(

Sounds like you've played well but just come up against slightly better performances on the day, no shame in that.

I went out 1st round in our KO and definitely had chances to win. Putter let me down when I needed it.

Played our club singles and got done 3&2 but had a good game and it could have gone ether way until he picked up two holes on the spin to go two up with nit many left and I started having to chase. Got my Nike (pairs and singles) once I get the opposition to confirm dates so hoping to make an impression in that

Played my singles at the club on Friday didn't play good but won 3&2 against a 2H/C, Playing tomorrow in the Golf Empire singles 3rd at clitheroe.
