Subs due - how does your course fair?

Saw a roadside sign at Glencorse GC in Midlothian with a special offer of £295 for this years membership.

they must be having a hard time at that level of offer.

I pay £680 this year. As I play 2-3 times per week (weather permitting) I think I get value for money. We were probably closed for about 5 weeks in all this year. If I went nomadic to play my golf I reckon I would be paying in excess of £1000 for the pleasure without the added benefits of belonging to a club

Their full subs are £630, so that's a fair hit they're taking. It's about the same as I pay at my place, which is 10 miles away, and I know where I'd rather play...

Last 3 years was just shy of £800... This year its £500. (We've introduced new membership brackets). Very happy with that, althought looking at moving next year to a course that is £1300 for the first year then £950 after that.

We had a small increase £25 but first in 2 years so fair enough IMO, reduced guests rates, and a long term plan to increase drainage and playability has been planned, and subject to approval work will start ASAP.

Two of us at just over £1000 each plus a joining fee. All time off work will now be spent at the club! Infact we're doing a quick 9 or more once hubby gets home from work.

My friend was a member at Strensall and has gone else where purely because of the lack of drainage and the course always being closed as soon as there is a spot of rain. Its a lovely course but is only open when its dry.

My Subs are £350 a year, and I get the choice of 4 18 Hole course's and 2 9 Hole Course's In Edinburgh. Granted they are municipal course's and I do need to pay £100 a year subs for the Membership at the club I play comps in. But i don't think this is to bad

Hope my wife doesn't read any of these subs.......I pay just over £1K (in ten monthly instalments).

Get my money's worth though, I've played over 40 rounds since the 1st Jan this year :D

Does anyone know any reasonably priced clubs around the Watford area?

I'm 26, I do get some discount at clubs nearby do intermediate memberships, but I still cant find anything less than £800ish. I would love to join a club but could only justify approx £500pa

Here in Sussex I am paying £1,535 for my full membership. It also gives me country membership of the Manor House Golf Club in Castle Coombe, with a free nights accommodation.

We've gone up a pound a month.
But we've also just taken on 100 new members from the other course in town that went bust a couple of months ago...

some of us really, really, don't like these threads...... :(

Isn't that the truth!

You ain't kidding. I think my renewal, which is a calendar year one, was in the region of £1,650 last year, including the £100 on the bar card. And no, we don't get any free rounds for a friend in that......
