Start badly, finish well - why???

I have started badly most of the year and it has become a bit of a mental block. The first few holes are quite difficult and its a case of getting to fifth tee without doing to much wrong, then you can build a score. I am usually standing on the fifth tee, card ruined with two doubles and a triple, thinking what can i have for my breakfast in three and a half hours

Thanks all for the insight/advice.

I think AliB hit the nail on the head. My home course when I was a junior has a really tough opening 5 holes - you do really well to get through them without losing a ball. This creates pressure right from the word go...
