Okay so I'm a newb on here and this may have been done before yadda yadda yadda. But 'fraid that I'm an old timer on other forums, so here goes.

When do you check out this forum, and why?

I'll go first.

Married - Yep
Kid - Yep (15 month old son, and I adore him!) He's in bed now.
Reason for checking out stuff like this - wife loves the soaps - yes all of them - and trashy dramas that are just soaps disguised as 'quality' dramas. Personally can't stand them.

Anyway that's why I'm here. Apart from the company of course!!

I'm here because I play, love, breath eat and s**t golf. Yep, it's got me snared.
I usually come on here on a night because it's dark and you can't play golf in the dark!

Truthfully, I love this forum for it's (normally) friendly members, good advice and general golf banter.

I'm a bit of a noob, sad to say.....sort of

I am married with a 10 y.o. "tigress" of the course perstering me for some pink Nicklaus clubs. :p

I come here to take my mind off the next tactical sortie into uncompromising places. I don't like telly, so I type while H.I.D. watches sh*te. (nearly some poetry there!)

My name is David, and I am an addict too. (thanks Homer, you've made it easier now you've paved the way). :)

I enjoy being able to talk about golf with people who are much more experienced and much more knowledgeable than I am. I also enjoy the fact that you feel you can ask any question however stupid it seems and gain a sincere, positive response which is always helpful.

evening all
been playing for over 50 years and do freely admit I am an addict.
Only came back to the game 2 years ago and joined the local club There is not much space on a ship to layout a course.
Why are we here?
just to listen to the crack and laugh at the stories.
all the best and dont forget
its only a game not life or death

Never looked at any other forum but as a veteran GM mag buyer thought I would give this one ago. Signed up and now hardly have time to go out and play it takes so long to read everything. There are far too many people on here that need to go out and get a life instead of giving me hours of entertaining, informative and sometimes thought provoking comment.

BTW Mr Grumpy or is it Mr Jock. Welcome to our little band. I won't ask why the name. I assume that you are the embodyment of all the other grumpy jocks on this forum!

Just joshing - honest

:D :D :D

I come here as its funs, entertaining and helps pass the time by providing a distraction during the working day and evening when H.I.D is watching (not soaps) but gardening programmes on UKTV Gardens.

morning to all
at work as usual tea break so check emails and soon to be out on the driving range.
as i was told by my old man life is what happens between rounds of golf. he always followed it with its only a game.
The reason for the nickname
suffering from duck's syndrome Icame out with the expresion I'm not Happy, to which the standard reply was well which one are you then Grumpy.
it stuck and as I have the accent it became Grumpyjock to all and i just carry it on.
Left the land of the Gods to travel the world and ended up in Compo land, been here for 20 years and enjoy all the fine courses around from links to parkland.
Play at Willow valley as they have carts and love to play at Waterton park.
will sign off as its back to work we go Hi Ho.

The forum is definately a place to escape everyday life.

Living with partner (getting maried 8th Nov)
Self-Employed, I work too much unfortunately.
I have one child, my gorgeous baby girl Olivia, now 15 months old. She puts everything into perspective.

I definately use the forum to get a way from the crap the missus watches, americas next top girl with anorexia is one of her favourites as is Tranny and Suzanna, she is also into how to look good naked, this however I like and I love Gok Wan. Apart from that hollyoaks is to be avoided like the plague.

I used to make that sort of cr@p for a while. Called it factory t.v. - get actors in , say lines, get actors out, next location, get actors in- repeat until you loose the will to live.

Graham Norton's show, Play Your Cards Right, Blind Date, Holby City, Night and Day, various t.v dramas. Typically 60-72 hours a working week of mind numbing rubbish made to eat fish and chips over and nothing else.

The film stuff was better but not much.

TV- something to do while the kettle boils
