I realise this is a seven year old thread, but we have just bought a new Sony TV and enquired with Sky about their Ultra HD Q Box. Sky supplied a 2tb box with no installation charge and a £15 / month increase on our bill. The TV picture is superb, but the only channel that I've found so far that is in Ultra HD is Sky F1 which isn't really on my watch list. Incidentally if you anyone is considering an upgrade to Ultra HD, only the 2tb box supports it.

Thanks, I only have the one Television and never watch football. The TV is a Bravia 4K and the standard HD picture is superb but it is too complex for my aged brain! All premier league footy (and other sports and i think some movies) are in UHD too, you will need to ensure you use HDMI 2.0 cables and obviously that your TV is suitable and you cannot watch UHD via one of your mini boxes, only from the main 2TB box.

That was years ago. I don’t pay for broadband as I work from home and the company pay for itThreaten to leave Sky and they'll give you Sky Q for less than Sky+
Do the same with TalkTalk and they'll give you their best phone and fibre optic package for more or less the same as the standard phone and broadband package.
Well that's what they did for me but they may not like South Africans........😉😂😂
The attraction of Sky Q is largely around the fact that I cannot get Sky onto my best TV which happens to be in our back room when our Sky box is in front room. SkyQ seems to sort that for me.
The main Sky Q box in my front room will get the dish signal and will connect wirelessly to the secondary Sky Q Box in the back room - and where the router lives. So nice strong wireless signal from router to the TV in back room - and the router booster will give a stronger wireless signal to the TV in the front room 0- and that's also been an issue.
So Sky Q sorts these two issues.
Not sure I really need Sky Sports. But at £10/month it's not such a big deal. I do miss my golf. And install is free.
