I got a Sky Q box for the first time earlier this year.

The installer signed me up for a good deal (Sky Signature and Sky sports for £20 per month).

This was meant to be for two years, but six months in they email me to say price going up £15 next month.

Plan on contacting them, hopefully without telephone, I see they have a Facebook Help Page.

Anyone any experience of getting contract help through that?

Facebook help will probably be for general issues and technical stuff.
Account related issues will probably need you to contact them for GDPR purposes.

When you look at the advertised prices it always says - subject to price increases,
That is one hefty increase.

This month I have final decided to cancel my Sky subscription when I have worked out how little I watch on it that is not available for free elsewhere. I worked it out - £40+ a month to watch just 5 channels.

May miss the sports but part of my decision was based upon them losing Eurosport but still increasing the price.

The thing is they are saying my contract is coming to and end but the guy who installed the box says he was signing me up to a 2 year deal.

If it is coming to an end you'll be able to get a decent deal off them... Reduced my bill by £6 a month and got a mini q box for the bedroom.

This is why I switched to and now always stick with Sky through NowTV, as got fed up of the contracts a. Few years ago. Literally only watch the sports and Mrs M uses the movies for her and kids. I pay £30 a month and every 6 months it’s meant I go up to the standard £45 but before that happens, I go to account settings to cancel it offers asks you 3 times if you sure you want to cancel. When it gets to the 3rd prompt you get an offer to remain on your current rate for a further 6months!

So I do that merry go round soon as I get the notification of increase and carry on. Can’t complain really and with working away a lot it makes it easier to watch anywhere in the world.

How do you receive Nov TV? Is it streamed through the WiFi or sky dish?

One thing I forgot to say is that you should have been sent a contract (normally via email). Check what it says.

Just had a look. There is no mention of the length of the deal I got at all, apart from the first 2 months being free that I can see.

I just checked my last contract and it has a start and end date on the second page.

Sounds like they signed you up for a trial period only.

I don’t think it is still active. Would appreciate a link if you have one. 👍
I used it last month. Am going through the cancellation process as they have put my package up from £40 to £75. They have come back and offered the same package for £47 but I’m holding off for a better price.

I think you need to click on the Virtual Assistant on the website to get to the online chat.

A few websites are like this now. You speak to the robot and when they ask if they have resolved the issue you answer no, possibly a few times. They then connect you to a real person. It would be nice to go straight to a human but it seems to be the dance required now.
